i just got my samsung charge 1 week ago and i was able to get the buy back program from best buy since that's where i got the phone, so i would like to know if i can change my charge for the bionic went it comes out? i really want to get a dual core phone but the dual core phones out there are not what i want. what do you think i can do since my plan with verizon is 1 week old ???

It comes down to what Best Buy's return policy is. 3 days? 30 days? I don't know. You'll probably have to pay a 15% restocking fee even if you can swap.

well i did get the buy back program for the phone. dont get me wrong the charge is fast, i havent rooted or change anything but for some reason my old samsung epic score 1000+ and my charge score 950 in quadrant any ideas>?

it currently have android 2.2.1 so i hope this phone gets an update soon, cause i really like and the camera features are awesome.

I think you have 15 days to return electronic items for a refund minus restocking fee. You would lose more money by going through the Worst Buy buy back program than you would just coughing up the 15% restocking fee. You should try to get your money back for the buy back program as well when you return the phone.

I have a friend that bought the Charge due to his OG Droid pretty much sucking. He was trying to hold out on the Bionic, but decided he needed something now (er...then). With the Buy Back program, they told him that they will buy the Charge back at half the unsubsidized price, in which case he can buy the Bionic.

It's still quite a bit of cash to fork over, and you're gonna make out better if you just return the Charge and get the Bionic. Or you could just enjoy your Charge and forego the buyer's remorse.

My understanding is that Charge scores low on Quadrant mainly because of an older less efficient filesystem that Samsung for some reason continues to support. Rooting it is supposed to give the ability to use a different filesystem if it bothers you. But in any case, the Charge is otherwise plenty fast on operations that don't involve heavy reading or writing to its 2GB of internal memory, especially if you load something like Launcher Pro that eliminates the lagginess of TouchWiz.

I had a Charge for two weeks: real nice phone, gorgeous display.

Unless you are a millionaire there is a point in time that every single one of us will have to stop worrying about the next best phone and just pitch our tents.

I believe mine will be the Bionic, simply because every day my Droid gets a bit laggier (did you know Laggier is not a word???), a bit slower, and has a couple more faults which annoy the hell out of me.

I can hold off until next month but man, it is driving me nuts hahaha.

I know this is a bit off topic (not as much as the Stargate thing was, though), but what the crap are all you guys doing to your poor OG Droids? The only thing that's deteriorated on mine is that stupid cheap gold paint on the camera button. But I swear it runs as fast and smooth as day 1. No random reboots, no more laggy than it was when I got it.

FYI, I'm running a Chevy 2.2.1 ROM that's overclocked to 1.1Ghz (supposedly). Maybe it's the roms you all are using?

I have always used Liquid kernels and maybe they are slowing down some or not having as great of an effect but they use to be lightning fast.

I'm not sure. I started a poll in the Droid forum asking if people would say if their OG was on it's last legs or not. It was later added whether it was rooted or not. It's been about half and half. I've come across many who aren't rooted that are having issues with their D1.

I've been rooted since not too long after root access was achieved on the D1. I've been OCed the whole time, on many diff ROMs, from 2.0 to 2.3. It wasn't until earlier this year that the OG started showing it's age. By the time I cracked the screen in June, the phone was on life support.

I got a refurb from Asurian and was impressed with how buttery smooth it was out of the box. Made me think that a year and a half of OCing may have damaged my original OG cool. But it didn't take long after I rooted that similar issues that I was having with the previous one started showing up. It didn't matter if I was on 2.2 or 2.3, or how high or low I was OCed. I'm hoping flashing back to stock will do the trick when it's time to move on and hand off my Droid.
