...maybe I am a little late on this subject but here it goes. Is everyone aware that tethering is enabled as a stock feature in the latest update?

Go to SETTINGS|WIRELESS and NETWORKS| check box for bluetooth(turn it on), and then if you go to the device you paired to, you will see a wrench icon; click it and you will then see a area called PROFILES, and under there is TETHERING, click on that and you will tether between your tab and whatever device you have paired (my Motorola PHOTON in this case).

HTH

FYI...this is on a wifi only model

You've always been able to do that. It has nothing to do with the update. I'm not saying that you claimed it was since the update,....I'm just saying.

I was unaware of that feature until researching tethering this past weekend. I originally thought it was due to Touchwiz.... swore I read that somewhere. But it works, and that's all that matters so I'm happy. Thanks for the clarification.

Doesn't work with HTC EVO or Samsung Vibrant.

Yes, I plead ignorance. Up until last Monday I working with my hTc EVO, I have since purchased the Motorola PHOTON and now the wrench is visible. Sorry for the confusion (more on my part than anyone else's).

It's funny because you posted in my thread where I explained how to do this on the Motorola X. So you are saying that this does, in fact, work on the Photon as well? If so, I need to update the other thread to reflect that.

Yes it does work. At the time of my posting in your thread I had the EVO and I said that PDANet worked fine for me. I have since moved to the PHOTON and the tethering is enabled via the tablet as you described.
