Going to buy Galaxy ACE , Do you Recomend it?

I'm hoping to buy a new mobile and i LOVE android smartphones
i was going to buy galaxy 551 but found that alot of people complaining about the GB 2.3 update and the small screen and some minor cons.

so i went to Ace but i also read alot about the SOD (Sleep Of Death)

and even when you upgrade to 2.3.4 you get 3 sec delay when unlocking the phone and some even said that the SOD problem didn't disappear completely.

In addition to the Ram and some people saying it's not enough.

Well for me i don't need a so overpriced mobile just tp tryout Android and be able to use more updates as they get released.

gotta say that i loved this forum and this is my first POST here :) .

I would recommend it very much. Far exceeded my expectations and i think it is great value for money. Gingerbread for me (official UK 3 network version) has no bugs and only improvements. I feel a lot of people have reported bugs that are present in the leaked versions of gingerbread?

Anyway i would say if you could financially stretch to a galaxy s or galaxy s 2 then definately get one of those. Superior in almost every way. Otherwise i would get this gem of a handset.

Since my 2.3.3 update i have had no S O D. No lag on screen waking up.

I would get one! (if i already did not have one!)

that's cool since i was afraid of the SOD thing.
but do you know when will this update be released in the Middle-East region?
i live in egypt and hope that they don't limit this update to europe only!

I have this phone for about 3 months and I really like it and do recomend it. I updated to 2.3.4 in Mexico and have not seen any downsides to it.

Maybe the only limitation is the memory and probably battery life.

I don't use the phone for music and haven't downloaded a lot of stuff, so no problem so far.

thanks for replying but what about the battery life?
how many hours will it last when listening to music ?
and is the ram thing being so small is annoying?

Battery life doens't seem to have changed for me (maybe a little), for what I use the phone works (although that's something that I'd like to have more).

Memory, well, I have I think a 2GB SD card (the phone came with a 1Gb card). On my Ipod I have around 8-9gb full, so I guess how much memory you need depends on what you want the phone to do.
