Hey guys. I just installed widgetlocker and am having a play round with it. I've set up the widgets no probs. - i'm enjoying customising.

But I have a few issues.

1. If I have pattern lock enabled in the settings, when I unlock from widgetlocker, the next screen is the stock lock screen then the pattern lock screen. If i disable the pattern lock, when I unlock widgetlocker the phone is unlocked and there is no stock lock screen.
I want to have widgetlocker then pattern lock - NO stock lock please.

2. When I click on a widget on widgetlocker that opens up an app (example audio manager), the next screen is the stock lock screen then the app.
Again i don't want to see the stock lock. I was hoping it would open the app, then once closed go back to widgetlocker lock screen.

3. When a call has ended, the phone goes to the stock lock screen. Again same problem.
I thought the whole point of widget locker would replace the stock lock screen. But it pops up all over. Of tried my best with the settings, so if any one has any ideas.........

The main one is with the pattern lock, vital for phone security. But i dont want to have two lock screens and a pattern lock.

Thanks in advance.

In WidgetLocker settings,

> Behavior > Appear on boot [check this]

I think this removed my swipelock and retained my pattern lock for me.

Let me know if this works for you.

I do have my Captivate set up so that there is never a swipe unlock, just my pattern unlock. I'll dig deeper if this doesn't for you guys.

I had that checked, didn't work. Can you explain how you have yours setup? Might be able to tweak it from there. Thanks!

This is very device specific.

What I've personally verified:
Stock Android (Nexus One, Original Droid, some others): Pattern works great, PIN/Password have an extra swipe
HTC Sense Android: Pattern/PIN/Password work without an extra swipe
Motorola 2.2 (Droid X/Droid 2): Pattern/PIN/Password all have an extra swipe
Samsung TouchWiz 2.1: No extra swipe for Pattern

What I've heard from users:
X10: Pattern has extra swipe

I'm looking into the best way of handling this across all the different setups. But it's a difficult problem, especially because security is a factor.

Same problems on my Samsung Fascinate. Post call it goes back to the lock screen. I had to enable the easy wake so that I can get NoLED to work, but now I have to go through 2 lock screens which obviously defeats the purpose of WidgetLocker. I had it working relatively well until I had to make some changes to get NoLED working.

Seems like a cool useful app, but as it is for me currently, I'm getting zero benefit from WidgetLocker. Any useful work arounds would be much appreciated.

You guys who are still posting the same question over and over, do you realize that Kevin is the developer who created widget locker?

He's very responsive, and his post explains why this is not an easy thing to do because each phone acts differently. I'm sure if there was a way to make it work great on all phones, Kevin would do it. However, he doesn't want to fix it for some phones at risk of making his app non-functional for others.

Afanvilla,

Do you have your email synched to your work's email exchange server?

I ask becasue I do, and I can not, under any circumstances, get any widget, pop up, etc... to appear over the lock screen. My company's IT group mandates a certain length password, and I can not disable it (I have tried), and I can not get any widget to appear over the lock screen. The only thing I can do without unlocking the screen is answer an incoming call.

For that reason, I have never even tried widgetlocker.

i'm new to widgetlocker. I was happy with this app, and is still happy now. But one thing that bugs me is that i find the volume button waking up the screen very annoying. I would love to disable this. Any ideas?

Go to settings on the lock screen ---> buttons & inputs ------> Easy Wake Mode -----> disable "press any hardware button to wake" Thats how it is on my Atrix, it should be similar for most phones I'm thinking.

Are you using a third party app like NoLock to "disable the stock lockscreen"? This will cause any button to wake the device. This includes CyanogenMod's tablet tweak to do the same thing.

Also some Samsung devices wake with the volume buttons, this may be something that can be worked around in the future.

WL itself will be able to show over the system lock screen even with Exchange, however depending on your device the stock lockscreen may require it's own standard swipe before the security input. Also launching an app from WidgetLocker will still require you enter the security. But a widget to like toggle your wifi would work, or a twitter widget (for example) will display content, just clicking on it will require the security input.
