Droid 3 cases

So I need a case for my D3 asap, before I drop it. q_q
All the stores in my area have the plastic snap ons that I don't care for. I'd much prefer the thicker leather cases, but I just can't find any. I tried Otterbox, but the cases aren't for sale for this phone yet.

Anyone know any legit sites where I can find what I'm looking for? Even Amazon hasn't been much help in this case..

i assume you want a case not a pouch that you slide the phone in and out of.

my suggestion is get a cheap plastic or silicone case for your phone for now and wait until some good otterbox or leather cases are out. the phone is only two weeks old gotta give it some time.

Oh.. now that you put it that way, I guess I'll need to be patient! I didn't even realize that it was that new, haha. :S

I just got two DROID 3 phones today (his and hers - buy 1, get 1 free deal) and I love the silicone "skin" I have on my DROID 1. Since the phone is so new, I didn't see any adds for a silicone skin case specifically for the D3 model. Does anyone know of a case that will work?

So far the phone seems smooth and fast...

I just ordered this blue one from here, came out to almost 14 dollars, but it will work for now until I can find something better. I hate those hard plastic ones that scratch the hell out of the phone. I will post a review of it when I get it if anyone is on the fence about it.

I am hoping it will do the job as well, the last hard plastic skins I had destroyed my Samsung epic, the only reason I was hesitant to get the D3 was due to bad selection of cases/skins. I was happy to have found those. Let me know what you think of them.

However, I'm still keeping my options open for a case with a holster and kickstand. I saw a DX2 version of that at my local VZW store and I was told they now sell the D3 version, but the saleswoman couldn't locate one at that store. It's $30.

Sand is a PITA no matter what. Otterbox is probably your best bet. They have their Commuter case available for the D3

When I am at the coast I like to kayak in the estuary (White Oak River). There are some cool geocaches on little islands that are only reachable by boat (kayak for me). The Droid3 is a near-perfect Geocaching tool, with like the open-source c:Geo installed on it and the Droid3's brilliant full sun capable display. However, I have already drowned one or more electronic devices out there, in the past...

So, I put the phone in a little "dry bag" that looks like it was made for a Garmin GPS unit and it fits well, doesn't leak, is tough as all get out and I can still work it via touch-screen through the bag. Its got a lanyard, so I can wear it around my neck. I wouldn't try to type anything serious on it like that, but it accepts finger-presses through the clear plastic side of the dry-bag. The slide-keyboard is not reasonably accessible, and you'd be hard pressed to answer a call and talk through the plastic, but I could use blu-tooth through the bag if I had a blu-tooth headset to sacrifice, if I had to go swimming unexpectedly...seems like someone should make a water-proof blu-tooth headset...

I don't know where you can buy one, mine came from a thrift store for about $0.50, but I bet kayaking suppliers or Garmin could help.

That looks like the OEM and seems like a very good deal for $9 shipped. I wonder how that compares to this $3 cheapy.

The cover I got from from Motorola Droid 3 Accessories and Droid 3 Cases fits fine with my extended battery.

I bought the Qmadix case/holster from amazon for $20 shipped. It is a very good feeling case and it does fit ok in the car docking station but it does not fit with the extended battery on it. I was hoping that it would work with the extended battery. If you don't use the bigger battery than I would reccomend this case/holster combo.

Id really like to pick up a case that fits the extended battery so any help would be appreciated
