It's stupefying to me to believe that a bunch of fanboi judges actually sided with crApple and stopped Samsung from selling Galaxy Tabs in the EU. Jobs must truly believe he has a right to sell whatever he wants without any competition!

Now, with iOS 5 coming out with "innovations" such as drop-down notifications, speech-to-text and widgets, I hope Google slaps an individual lawsuit against crApple for each "feature" that they lifted straight from Android. If we can keep Jobs on the defensive, maybe we'll actually get some decent Android products on the market without paying eye-watering subsidized prices for them...

As I mentioned in Bionic forum, Google really needs to step up on this and they are actually in good position to sue Apple for iOS5 copying several Android features straight.

And when news like this is popping up every so often, it seems more and more apparent that Apple is resorting to lawsuits rather than trying to compete on the strength of their products.

Apple Acquires 20 New Patents – Could Prove Problematic For Android

But google doesn't have that patented sadly so most likely apple will try and patent it then sue those who use it. Apple clearly is using patents because they can a Jude needs to stand up and rule these down because apple isn't protecting innovation they want no competition.

This is not usually how it works. most of the recent lawsuits against Google's Android is based off of this "portfolio of patents"This portfolio of patents pretty much covers wide ranges of vague conceptual ideas that could be implemented on any technology. This basically means that almost EVERYTHING is covered by this "portfolio" in someway or another.

Recently, Apple bought this porfolio for billions of dollars(not sure of exact figure, but i think its around billions). Now they are suing aloott of companies. and they get like 10 bucks for every HTC android device sold.

In the industry, we used to call douches who does this "submariners", but now they evolved into what we call "uber trolls". US patent laws have been changing to somewhat limit this bs patent suits, but people keep finding new ways.

Btw, Google did try to buy the same porfolio, but got outbidded. Not sure if Google was planning to sue others with the portfolio or maybe just buy to protect themselves.

They can't go toe to toe with Android offerings by innovating and providing new features at a faster rate because it would completely kill their business model. If they put out a phone that competed with the Galaxy S2, they'd kill their roadmap for the next 5 years.

Very true apple makes incremental upgrades where as android makes huge upgrades every few months. The apple drones don't demand as much which is why android has 4g and apple is sticking with 3G so next year when they add it they can say it is revolutionary when android has had it for over a year by that time.

Really how many ways can android device designed to avoid their lawsuit attack?

None, if crApple has anything to do with it. They are secretly terrified of Android. Yes, they out sell us (no comment about the majority of their buyers), but we're far more prevalent with scores of devices while they have less than half a dozen. I occasionally read fanboi articles about the demise of Android, just to get my blood boiling (helps prevent low blood pressure :p ). If Android doesn't successfully counter-sue and defend itself, I would hate to think they're right.

Agree it's like listening of a bunch of middle schoolers argue that what they have should be the only thing and nothing else deserves to exist. Always a good read just the insanely ignorant apple comments.

What a friggin' minute... whatr's wrong with THIS picture?

Apple looks to Samsung as LG fails to meet iPad 2 display demands, report claims

crApple sues the poop out of Samsung and then expects them to bail them out of a parts shortage??? OH, but to be Samsung CEO and have 5 minutes with Steve Jobs...

Well, if Apple got Samsung banned from selling the Tab in Europe, Samsung is going to need the money.

Samsung's response will reveal whether they have any dignity or not.

They don't need money you realize how many things they make? Just because apple is blocking tablet sales in a few places it is still selling in other places not to mention all the phones they sell worldwide.

If I were Samsung, I'd sell them LCDs at $1000 a piece. Problem is, Apple would probably just turn around and sell the iPads for $3000...and sadly, people would be lined up around the block to buy them.

I heard somewhere that every 2 Iphones sold, 7 Android is being sold

so i think it is safe to say Android is outselling Idevices and Apple is threatened by it

I think that's due more to Android being available on more carriers and more networks worldwide than the iPhone. But I do think Apple is secretly terrified of Android's rise in popularity. Hence the lawsuits.

The iphone is on just as many networks as android is except for maybe sprint and tmo. Worldwide they have had an iphone on pretty much all international carriers.

If I were samsung, I'd end parts business with them and focus on mobile products. But it would be very tough to give up multi-billion chips, display parts business as their semiconductor division will take big hit in revenue. I think one of Apple's goal in this lawsuit is to pressure them to lower the cost of parts.
