Maybe the spider monkeys played keep away with the hard drive they were keeping the update on and wound up destroying it leaving HTC to scrap the update instead of starting from scratch.

I'm not saying anything, not going to suggest any sort of excuses this time...

If you could for us;
Please ask why you were told by your management that updates were not being pushed out due to the strike yet the Xoom was and is being updated during said strike.
Another report to throw in

Don't shoot the messenger
That's it! Maybe they already pushed it to us but the streams got crossed and now the update has a "2" in it.

First I want to say I have enjoyed this forum from the outside looking in for way to long now. Yesterday after reading posts regarding the Incredible not getting the Android Gingerbread Update I decided to finally pick up the phone and call HTC North American Corporate Headquarters in Bellevue Washington. They put me in contact with their Customer and Public Relations Representative, but as I expected I got her voicemail. I left her a message about whether HTC Corporate could provide any information regarding the Gingerbread update for the Incredible and asked her to call me back. I laughed after I hung up the phone, because I figured I would hear nothing back from her. Then this morning about 9:30 AM the caller ID showed an incoming call from HTC America Inc. and I began to feel like that kid at Christmas time before he opens his present as I answered the call. It was the Public Relations person I had left a message for yesterday returning my call. She told me the same canned speech I have seen on here multiple times from emails and I have received the same responses from HTC Email and Verizon as well. "The updates require testing and that at this time she has no other information to provide." I told her I had seen that multiple android news outlets were covering an email that was sent to a customer from HTC. The email explained that there would be no updates for the Incredible. She repeated again that she had no other information and of course apologized for not having more information to give me. So with that I will say this much and leave it at that. All corporations not just HTC have got to find a better way to inform their customers of software updates. I think there is still hope for an update, but if there is not an update then that will just have to be the way it is. I still enjoy using my Incredible, but it sure would of been nice to have Gingerbread to assure that I had the most recent operating system on my phone until my two-year agreement ends next year. Thanks for all the entertainment you have provided me in this forum and lets keep are fingers crossed, because maybe just maybe we still might get the official Gingerbread Update.
I do not want this to sound rude but why are you all even contacting HTC. HTC has done work on this and since they are not the final decision on release dates, it is.fruitless to ask them.for.information. they do their job and them they wait for.Verizon.
Again folks. Just be patient. Information will come.
What is "Verizon Wireless NRB"?
Jeff
30+ posts related to root/rom moved to new thread here: http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/394160-tired-waiting-gb-root-rom-discussion.html
This is an attempt to keep this thread at least a little on topic. Please feel free to keep discussion going on over there, it really is interesting, just doesn't really belong here.
Thanks
Give it a week lil they will be back
