Recommending Go Launcher (was "New Launcher!" and "Go Sms"))

+1! This has been a major issue for me since getting the GB OTA. Never had a problem on FROYO. I've emailed the developer several times, but have not received a response back. I've switched back to LPP until this gets figured out. I still get some fore closes on LPP, but not near as much as with GL. If anyone has any fixes, please post them. Thanks!
This [Script] V6 SuperCharger! HTK & BulletProof Launchers! The ONLY Android MEMORY FIXER! - xda-developers has resolved this issue for me. It can be a bit tricky to get set up, but it definitely works.

If by "circle" effect you mean the app drawer screens run in a circle (i.e. when you scroll to one end, it starts over at the beginning):

From any home screen, press Menu button>Preferences>App Drawer Settings;

then tap "Scrolling orientation" and choose "Horizontal loop".

If you mean changing the "effect" when pressing the Apps icon:

From any home screen, press Menu button>Preferences>Effects Settings;

then tap "Enter/Exit transition" and choose the desired transition effect. The closest thing to a circle effect would be the "Windmill" setting.

If one of these isn't what you were looking for, could you provide some specifics?

Neither of those. What I am looking for is in the screenshot below. I've seen it in a few places, I just don't know how to set it up.

What's funny is, I was all set to switch to Go Launcher and purchase colorized widget (so I'd still have the widgets that I use for LPP), but after I got my Photon, LPP runs 10X's smoother on it than it did on my EVO. It's probably due to the dual core processor and the additional internal storage space, but it's like night and day with the transition screens.

Interesting. I don't plan to get a new phone yet, so maybe the dual core would help, but ever since GB, my LPP would FC several times a day. Drove me bananas!!! Switched to GL, and I think I've had it FC on me maybe once in the last 2+ weeks. Oh, and I tried Colorized Widget and Facez for Facebook, and settled on Android Pro Widgets. It was the closest I could get to LPP and had several other widgets to boot for only $.99

Never knew about Android Pro Widgets. Nontheless, yeah, I know what you mean 'bout the FCC issues because it was pretty consistent on my EVO. I also realized that part of the reason was I had backed up my LPP with a lot of stored cache, so it was taking up a lot more memory than it really should have been. Now, I make sure to clear out the Twitter and Facebook cache every couple weeks, to make sure I don't run into similar issues.

I can say that having the dual core processor must have a significant effect on how LPP runs. At first, I thought maybe it was because of how Motorola re-tweaked blur, so it wasn't having a negative effect on LPP, as much as the EVO. Were it only running as smooth as it was on the EVO (at the end), I might have gone with GL+ and tried purchasing one of the widget apps. Since I was just way too familiar with LPP already and I knew it had all the widgets that were important for my needs, I decided to give it one last shot...which is great because once Fed releases the "new" version (whenever he actually gets done), I'm curious to see how that will respond.

Hmm, to me that looks like a screenshot of the "sphere" icon effect. That's just a transition effect you get when you pan through your applications if you choose that particular setting. I don't think there's a setting that will lock the apps in that particular view, at least not that I've found.

That is the sphere icon effect like stated above, that animation only occurs when you side scroll so you apps sit in grid form like normal until you horizontally swipe. :cool:

Thanks! But now the million dollar question: where the hell do I find that effect option? In App Drawer Settings, the options are Vertical Continuous, Horizontal Page by Page, and Horizontal Loop. For Enter/Exit transitions, I see Default, Random, Windmill, Zoom, Flip and TV. I don't see Sphere anywhere in any setting option. :thinking:

You actually select from the main Preferences option, not the App Drawer Settings:

Home Screen>Menu button>Preferences>Effect Settings>Icon Effect>Sphere

Ok, now we're getting somewhere. The only thing left is figuring out why that option is disabled. It's stuck on Binary Star and will not allow me to change it. I tried selecting every possible combination, but nothing opens up that option for me. Weird.
