This is a alpha build, install at your own risk! I am not responsible if you break your phone!!!

This clockworkmod recovery was built following koush's guide..

This is fully working and has been submitted to koush for official release and be added to ROM Manager.

You will need to install this using the fastboot method:

  1. Boot your phone into fastboot - (VOL- DOWN, POWER, Hold for 10 seconds)
  2. connect phone to computer via USB
  3. navigate to the recovery dir you downloaded and unzipped
  4. Run the install script for your OS (windows, linux, or mac)

On windows you should see a cmd prompt window flash up and disappear with a few seconds if install completed. If it just hands there waiting on device you need to check the drivers for your phone and possible reinstall them.

Hey how can I install cwm without a computer? Thanks
you can dl the recovery.img from your phone n move it to the root of the sdcard, by running this cmd, but you will need to be rooted.
Code:
flash_image recovery recovery.img

Ooh. When will that be? And could I use another version of cwm to install the a2 ROM?
When koush gets to it. In this game we dont ask about ETA's lol

no other version will work for the a2.

Just got it to work (not really). "flash_image" is not installed on the phone. I had to get it from elsewhere. Then i flashed the image using it. When i boot into recovery, it gives me the initial options, but i cant select them. When i select them, all options disappear. I tried to flash it three times. Still no go. I have to first cd to the directory where flash_image is located, then use the program.

link to flash_image:
Help please :)

Thought it might help. Download it from link on fourth post. extract it to the sd card, but not in a folder. Download the recovery.img file in the sd card, but not in a folder. enter command:
cd /sdcard/
./flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
Now open rom manager and it should say the current recovery image is "clockworkmod 3.x.x.x".

Update: the recovery works only through rom manager. Booting into recovery still wont work! Is this normal?

replace "your-image-location" with something like "/sdcard/recovery.img" if the file recovery.img is not in any folder in sd card.

Still can't get the recovery image to work!!!

You need root if you havent rooted yet.

The recovery works fine, had it tested and verified b4 posting it ;) Tho those who tested it installed it with the package for the PC. Its been submitted to koush and he will merge when he gets time so hopefully it will be available thru ROM Manager soon too ;)

I couldn't get the comp to connect to it. I have been stuck with Vista because my comp got destroyed in accident, so i have someones extra. Drivers were loaded, but it still said "waiting for device". Thats irrelevant. Thanks for the recovery image! Hopefully someone is working on porting CM7, so we can see what this thing is really capable of. Im going to get on it too. First android, so it may be a while. It was rooted.(Was ur root exploit gingerbreak run in recovery?) Then i su ed to root and it still said flash_image was not installed. It has been flashed in recovery manually. Everything works fine through rom manager; Im happy.

I am working on a port of CM7 for the the A2 ;)

I dont have a A2 yet, I cooked the stock rom from the stock restore file, and rooted it with the kitchen.

Good to hear everything works fine in ROM Manager too. The recovery will be official soon as koush has time to merge it.

I currently have a few donations in to help out and I have my og Ascend for sale, so hopefully it will be soon and I will have one to work with ;)
