How to install an application via USB in android platform

Dear Friends

I am not able to download applications from the market direct into my MID. Is there anyway I can manually download them to my laptop and then install them to android platform using usb cable??

Thanks for your help a lot!!

I take it you have the apps as .apk files on your PC but you havn't a file manager on your phone for installing the .apk's.

So you could try this:
Copy the .apk's via USB cable in a folder (say MyApps) on your SD card.
After un-mounting the SD card execute in your phone browser window
"file:///sdcard/MyApps/<you apk file>"

if you are talking about all apps from the android market.. then you should fix that issue and not find a work around. there should be no reason not to be able to do this.

if you are having problems with 1 app... then.
1. you have to have apk file of that app.
2. have a file manager app installed on your phone... ex: Astro
3. copy the apk file to any place on your phone via usb or any other way you can.
4. make sure you:
homescreen
menu
settings
application
then check the "load app from un-known source"
5. use the file manager (step 2) to install the apk file (step 1)
