wife gets 3g 2.2.1/ I dont w/ 2.2.2

A few days ago, I updated my lg optimus m via software update by usb on my pc. wife has same phone as well. with the recent metro pcs 3g expansion, my updated phone has the 2.2.2 os, wife's, the 2.2.1 (not updated). her's gets constant 3g, even in our house where we have wi-fi! when she turns off wi-fi in the settings/wireless & networks, she has 3g. I dont have 3g, except very intermittently. when i turn off wi-fi in the settings menu, i have 1x. Is this possible due to the recent update i installed in my phone?

Where do you find the update for the optimus?? I'm running 2.2.1 and I have the 1X bar and I even have the wi-fi turned off so it won't drained my battery. I've been having some issues with the phone since I got it from this dude but I think it had something to do with the SD card not formatted it. I just formatted it and hopefully that will resolve the issue of it from restarting itself or freezing up. Anyways... can you please tell me where I can find the update?? Thanks!

you have to download the lg drivers Mobile Support then connect your phone and check update or something like that. By you updating may or may not fix the freezing/restarting etc... updating will NOT automatically give you 3G. try dialing *228, option 5 to see if it gives your 3G (your phone will restart itself). and maybe you will get 3G. http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/391622-tutorial-manual-update-3020-prl.html this tutorial will help you get 3G if the the *228 doesnt (most ppl who did this got 3G)

jax has 3g, some markets do not.
