I can't get my acer to recognize any usb drives. i tried a scandisk, lexar and kingston. From 4gb, 8gb to 16gb, all dont work. I tried shutting it off and then plugging the usb drive in and then turning on the tablet and still nothing. Really driving me nuts. Whats the point of putting a usb slot if it doesnt even work. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

It is a little different finding you drive and memory card on these units. The SD card is called SD Card External and The internal is also called SD Card but not external. Kind of stupid but that the way it is. I asked about the file manager cause it will be hard to find files without it. If you don't go to market and get ES file manager its free.

Yes it should. I would return it for another. It really is a great tablet when you get a working one. I got a good one on first try but there is another on this forum who had to get four of them before She got a good one. No that's a drag.

Sadly that was me, however now that this 4th has been problem free I love it.

that sucks, i already threw an invisible shield on this one. hopefully i can reuse it. Can i use a 32gb usb drive on these? I mainly wanna use it to watch movies and tv shows from the usb drive. also they would be in 720p

Yes a 32gb usb drive shouldn't be a problem. Mine aren't. But i also rooted my tab so i could use my 500gb hd.
The only thing I noticed with the usb drive or sd card slot is it takes a few minutes for it to recognize the drive. I leave my sd card in it so once it recognizes that it does it automatically without issue. But the usb always takes up to 5 minutes for me depending on the size of the drive.

I just got my 32 gig SD card last night works great. Once I realized that the size shown in the file manager is the size of files on card and nowhere does it show the card size. Kind of weird. The players to try for 720p especially for MKV files is Vplayer Moboplayer or MX player. I like the vpalayer best. The MX player is really the best interface but I cant get the voices to sync right with that one.

Really the usb takes that long that is weird. When I put my 32 gig SD card in I had to reboot for the files on it to be seen.
It is nice being able to hook up my 500 gig drive to this . I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks and I'm loading my drive up with movies for the flight. The only way to fly...
