Help My phone dosent display 1x internet problem

Up dated my phone with 2.2.2 from metro pcs phone works fine but the phone will not display or go on the internet without wifi ; before it would say1x but now nothining is there a way to fix this and also any way to make this phone run on the internet without wifi any help would be great


what is the benifit of rooting a phone and will this help with internet speed when not running wifi just trying to see if i can get a better connection to the internet without switching providers thanks and any help onthe 1x thing would be great

I've heard several people with the same issue after doing the metro 2.2 update.

You have a few options... If you haven't rooted yet, you can take it back to metro and make them fix it. Or you could root it and try out PlayfulMod, or try one of the cm roms.

i havent rooted the phone . Dont know why i would what is the reason for rooting dont know. Should i try to and will it make the phone run better

i fixed it i went to setting-wireless networks- mobile networks - data enabled checked it and 1x came up

dial *228 option 5, than option 1. also try putting your phone in airplane mode for a couple minutes, but if all fails contact metro, you might not be on the upgrade plan which is their fault, and they will fix it for you right than.

Glad you got it figured out. I didn't even think of that. LOL.

In regards to rooting, it allows you/your apps root access. Some apps require root access in order to operate. Apps like Titanium Backup and Root Explorer need root access, they can be used to remove bloatware which is otherwise impossible to get rid of. So i kind of have the same problem but i have my 1x bar all the time but i can not connect to the internet just when i am at one if just where there is free wifi. i do have my gmail account setup. and i seen you guys posted rooting the phone.how do you do that? I use to have the samsung carft and im starting to miss that phone because i like how i can just connect to the internet faster

Did you try resetting your connection? Taking out the battery for a while, reinserting and trying again? I'm able to connect to the internet with 1x, yet its freakishly slow.
