Overall feelings on your Inspire?

Ive had it since launch:

Pros-
-Android, so its highly customizable, very easy to download free music from apps on the app store, as they arent screened very well
-Best android ui (HTC Sense)
-Amazon App Market! The free app of the day deals are amazing
-Nice screen
-Flash
-No steve jobs telling you what you can or cannot have!

Cons-
-Suspect GPS
-Freezes up sometimes and will take a few seconds to catch up, not as smooth as iPhone 4
-Battery is dreadful, who wants to have to charge everyday?
-No Netflix officially
-Speaker is too quiet at loudest setting

All in all I really like this phone despite its shortcomings. Would I trade for an iPhone 4? Maybe. iPhone 5? Definitely. Ive seen alot of deals to get this phone for free on 2yr renewal, so I would say it is worth it, but in my opinion, the Android platform is best suited for "tech whizzes" and an iPhone would probably be the best fit for people not technologically educated, because it just works, without having to know alot about anything.

Disclaimer- I generally hate Apple products because of Jobs, but I tried to give this phone as fair as a review as possible.

It's very difficult for a multitasking device to be as smooth as a non-multitasking device. The iPhone is able use all of its resources to run the foreground application. My answer is in two parts, I love the phone and the app are equal to the Iphone that I had, the phone is superior to the Iphone, however the HTC support total blows, talk about as in non support. Don't expect ant real support if you have problems.

Hi there, got my red Inspired about 3 weeks ago and love it! Went on 2600 mile road trip, GPS, internet, message and FB worked flawlessly, and I love the WiFi automatic connection when I'm within range of a free signal. Saves tons of data usage charges! And so many apps to choose from, but you already know that. If your girlfriend doesn't mind a large phone, I'm guessing she would lovvve this one!

I've also had mine since launch.. and I want to say overall it is a great phone and everything. Solid, build very sleek design and overall easy of use. I myself have no problem with it thus far. I also got an extended battery for it from Powercell on Amazon my ex girlfriend ordered it for me as a birthday present and since, I got it now rooted just recently I have my battery while quite a good time and it is overall a great phone. Couple of months ago I bought the iPhone at full retail I returned it within three days of purchase and kept the Inspire since, then. It was, a long story why, I bought the iPhone it was the stupidest mistake I have done in my life. I am glad I learned from it and it really made me realize a lot of more things, (long story).... anyways overall this Inspire is a great and solid built phone I plan on having it a while. Right, now I don't see myself upgrading till maybe when the whole LTE rolls out for att till then I can be content with the phone.

had mine for two weeks ago and have about 30 apps loaded on it and this is one fine, responsive machine. So glad I got it.
BTW, got my red Inspire at Target for $29.95 with two year extension on service.

Well I'm digging mine I took a HTC thunderbolt back to Verizon after a few weeks due to issues and this one is just night and day. The TB rebooted turned itself off and randomly decided that it didn't have internet (data signal) in the middle of -70db 4G big city signal (rebooting unstuck this every time.

So far the Inspire is stable fast rock solid and the screen is far more slick and responsive.

I read often the complaints about the screen in daylight and the speaker phone, both not being up to par... not being able to see the screen in the day and the speakerphone being weak/low/etc. Im just wondering a little about this because I sat outside all day today, in the desert heat (eek!) and surfed the web and texted with my college kiddo, with no issues about the screen. I also made 4 calls, had them all on speaker... it was loud and perfect. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the delay transferring from handset to speaker when I first put it to speaker... but once its on speaker, it was fine.

Am I misunderstanding the issues about the screen and the speaker phone?
Speaker phone is realllllly important to me (I know I can do bluetooth but i honestly hate them, lol), so Im really interested in this issue

Ahh okay, gotcha. I do have my brightness turned way down to help save on the batt, I'll try again today (I turned it down this morning) and see how it goes, I have a feeling it wont be gooooood. lol

I am such a newb, I haven't ever heard of a bluetooth speakerphone, only headset (which I hate). Hmmmmm! So if mine ends up not being satisfactory, I suppose I have options to remedy it. My speaker on my other phone was gosh awful... GOSH AWFUL!!! Maybe this is why I love my speaker phone on my Inspire. LOL!!!

I love the inspire and have tried a few others but keep coming back to it. I just wish it fit in my pocket better but I can live with that.

Always loved it, but now that I have Gingerbread (2.3.3) on it. I love it even more!

This thing got a major performance upgrade with Gingerbread, it flies! Plus the new drop down notification menu is even better with the addition of quick notifications.

I have now learned exactly why many complain about the screen in daylight not being visible.... I found myself tucking my phone UNDER my shirt and looking down into my shirt to be able to see my phone! ahhhhh hahahahaha.... wow.

With the UI I am very happy, the overall usage of the phone is great. I think the Inspire feels too bulky, in comparison, sometimes. That being said, I still think the Inspire is the best Android device available on AT&T, I'm just not a huge fan of its build style.

As you said, it depends on everyone's preferences. For example a few years ago I got a Nokia E63. After a few weeks I had the chance to hold a Nokia E71, which has almost the same specs as the E63 but build out of metal. I sold my E63 yo get the E71. I loved the solid built feeling. Same case with the Inspire.

This is my first Android phone after a BlackBerry Bold, having bought the Inspire the week it came out. The transition was about as expected, love the screen, the keyboard took some learning, and Android is about "as expected."

Many of the apps are not well-polished and much of the code feels like it's 98% there, but with no intention of pushing to get that last 2%. As a result the sw feels like a prototype that's ready for production... right after they clean up the code, but never did. Even compared to the Bold I've had to do more hard reset (pulling the battery) in 6 months than I did with the Bold in 2 years.

I wouldn't go back to the Bold, but so far, Android is proving to be as expected, with slighly-flakey code. It's funny to picture how Android code is developed versus Apple. With Apple I picture a bunch of programmers constantly monitored by prison guards, who, as a result, hammer code into virtually bug-free apps, or the beatings continue until moral improves. Android... is a bunch of monkeys hammering away at keyboards. Eventually through random chance, they'll come up with something that works "pretty well" but is forever buggy.

That said, I've never owned an iPhone and don't plan to, but suspect their sw is rock-solid.

4th day with my Inspire. HTC Sense got me in love. When I purchased the phone on Amazon (I live out of the US) I was planning to try it for a few weeks and sell it to get maybe an Atrix if I had problems with the battery. I am definitely having problems with the battery because I'm out of home almost 16 hours a day and the max i've got till now of my battery is 12 hours. Even with this battery problems, I think I'm keeping it because its just fun to have it. I even enjoy unlocking it just to check the actual battery percent XD.

used mine for about 4 months, no problems at all. battery life is a little so so, but the new update to gingerbread seems to have solved that. for the price it's great (i got mine for 50 dollars, no activation fee, and taxed only on the list price).
