Root Cm7 1.1

I tried 3.5.11 and was having some issues, so back to 3.5.8 with RHCP's mod and all is well again.

With Speedtweak, I usually run 1.4 extreme and run the following voltages in system>etc>init.d>01VDD... with no problems.

245 @ 750
368 @ 800
768 @ 975
1024 @ 1075
1222 @ 1125
1408 @ 1175

I used to be able to drop 768-1408 another 25-50 but on AOSP ROM's it kept locking up and wasn't seeing any battery difference. I think the 245 @ 750 is really the only one that saves battery.

What issues were you having? I've been running it for the past day with no problems. Love your init.d values, just changed my bottom two as per your recommendation.

I couldn't get car home to work on the 7-29 gapps, but it does work on the 7-25 version posted on (the link to it) slayhers rootzwiki OP. I'll test it with you if you like, I couldn't find anyone to test it either. Send me a PM with your info or I'll send you mine.

just tested, i have the video icon in talk on my phone but called from my computer and no video showed up just a voice chat. Also called from my phone, also no video. The only reason i have car home is because i restored a backup from the older gapps packages, but it is the older version. 2.2.1 i believe the newest version is 2.3 or 2.2.2 i forget what it was when i flashed omgb and looked at it.

edit: If I knew how to do it from my computer that is.

i signed into my moms gmail account on talk on my computer and tried to do video chat. I had it setup and know it worked when i called my brother on my computer im not sure if something didn't go right though becuase my webcam never came on for the computer, maybe with a little troubleshooting now that i have some time i can double check it.

Do you edit the system>etc>init.d>01VDD manually or do you use a program like IncrediControl? I ask because there are now various ways to edit the voltages such as vipermod, speedtweak, and IC. I did it the manual way last night but IC is extremely easy to use. I wish I knew if any of these conflict with the kernel mods each dev says to use.

Just speedtweak for the gov and extreme settings. Then manually lower them in init.d

I was using twisted umbrellas script fusion, which I like, but didn't really see a need for it. The extra tweaks weren't noticeable so I went back to just using speedtweak.

Tried vipermod, but my phone doesn't like the Tiamat or Kang Bang kernels. Especially Kang bang, I've tried to use it so many times and my phone locks everytime even without touching a single setting.

Just had some lag when typing, scrolling etc. I might flash it again. Matter of fact I was gonna do that last night until my CWR meltdown..

CWM meltdown? I am kind of eager to hear this, as i have made the jump to the still in development TWRP recovery and seems like it is way better than CWM. What kind of problems were you having?

Got the threads confused.. I went into Rom manager yesterday to rename a backup and was prompted for an update available for CWR, 4.0.1.5 I believe..

Booted into it manually, I only use Rom manager for renaming.. made a nandroid, flashed a new kernel, and after a while I noticed the phone was slugglish, haptic wasn't keeping up with keystrokes etc. And when I booted back into recovery it wouldn't. Kept hanging at the HTC screen.

After numerous battery pulls trying to get the ROM to load I got far enough to try and undo the update, no luck, phone froze, couldn't get to recovery through hboot, Rom manager, manually, nothing.. ROM and recovery refused to load.

Ended up pulling the SD and using my card reader to load jcase's 4.0.0.5 version and restore my backup.

I'm hoping team WIN's recovery is 100% soon so I can ditch CWR all together.. someone else is running the newest version without issue so maybe it was a bad download, but given the option I would've rather stuck with 3.0 whatever..

My personal opinion, there's nothing wrong with the current version, so I'd stick with it or go over to team wins recovery.

Ill make the jump once the last couple bugs are worked out. Seems all that's left is occasionally hanging at the HTC screen. At the speed they've been working I doubt it'll be longer than a couple days..

Jcase's kanged 4.0.0.5 gives the option to reboot to the bootloader so you can flash in hboot and CWR without loading the ROM or pulling the battery. That's what I'm running for now.

I agree it's a nice feature, but when and how often would you use that? I could have used it once when flashing between MR2 and MR1 back in the day, but never since. At the time I used adb reboot commands which basically accomplished the same thing. But believe me, if I were still on cwr I'd have it.

Anyone experiencing issues with gmail notifications? Ever since the updated gmail app they have moved the option in settings to set whatever sound you want unless i just can't find it. For some reason my phone does not recognize a gmail notification, and does not play the stock notification sound when i get an email. Just wondering if there is a way to fix this. Phone still vibrates and led flashes just no sound with gmail notifications.

I'm goin over to team wins recovery.

@worm did you move your clockwork folder to your comp and then copy to the new recovery?

Wanna make sure I don't lose everything I have in clockwork.

No, I didn't move anything over. I didn't really have any backups I wanted to save, though. I was under the impression CWR backups weren't compatible with twrp? So that's also why. If that's the case and you have backups you can't live without I would suggest restoring your CWR backups in question, flash twrp then make a new backup. If you have more than 1 or 2 it will become a PITA very quickly, though

I am still on RC1.4 because of the problems that 1.5 had. Should I just go to 1.6? Worth it?

Haven't flashed 1.6 yet but if I were you I would just make a backup do a full wipe and flash. If you had problems with 1.5 that is the first thing I would suggest is a full wipe. I am going to flash 1.6 over 1.5 first and see if anything weird happens. Then I resort to full wipes if anything is wrong.
Although I have been in love with the latest setup I have been using in 1.5.2.
Oh well I like having the newest version like everyone else on here.
