Help Question about connecting dock to speakers

Am I missing something here? I connected the dock to a set of powered speakers I have that accept a 3.5" stereo plug. I am using the supplied RCA cable and connect that to an adapter that then goes to the speaker setup and no sound through the speakers. Is this not possible? Do I have to use an actual stereo receiver??

Thanks for any info.

Looks like I got one bad dock because I ordered two so I could have one at home and one at office. I opened the second dock and plugged it into the powered speakers the first one didnt work with and it works fine.

I wonder how I could try and re-pair the first dock. When you place the N1 into dock the first time it asks you if you want to use for audio. I selected yes but I wonder if I reset the connection I could get it to work. Any ideas??

Thanks for link. I really dont want to do a factory reset. I know for a fact that I selected to use for audio. I called HTC, they say they will call me back with return info, they think it's faulty. I think if there was just a way to force that setting screen to come up again I could de select and then select and get it to work.

I watched again and decided to try and go into settings while N1 was in dock and although it didnt work for the guy on video, sure enough the dock settings are in the "sound and display" section of settings and I just reset the setting and it worked fine. THANK YOU!!! for taking the time to post link.
