HTC desire HD auto Backlight

Hi, I have been using my HTC desire for seven months now. i have upgraded to 2.3. my problem is that the back light goes on automatically after a while even if i keep the phone locked which is why the battery life is shortened as well. i have tried restore factory setting as well but i didnt help. any one has a clue please help. i have been to the three and vodaphon shop but they couldnt help.

It sounds as though there's an errant app running in the background. If you look at the battery usage stats, what does it say is eating the battery?

No i have already performed hard reboot which erases all the applications but it still doing that. it is so inconvenient, the battery goes empty in no time.

By Hard Reboot, do you mean turn it off, take the battery out and start again? Or a factory reset (which would actually erase all applications, although if linked to the same gmail account when setup again, they would reinstall themselves)?

yes factory reset. when you hold the volume key and turn the phone off. and yes u are right it erases every thing. but the problem still persist... i have tried almost every thing but nothing helped.

One of the apps known to cause that sort of problem after the GB update is Greenpower, do you have that installed?

No i haven't. and for some reason my phone is doing well since yesterday...... bizarre situation.
