This might be a really stupid question but I have not been able to set up the right notification for text messages. I want there to be a delivery report for each text (so I can see that the verizon ones have been sent successfully) but when I check the box for vibrate on received text notifications, it vibrates whenever the texts I send to my friends (they received) as well. Is there anything I'm doing wrong. This is really stupid I know haha.

Sorry, but I don' t really understand what it is you're trying to do. You want to have your phone notify you when a text msg you send is received? But not all the ones you send?

No, sorry for being unclear. Lets just go with: I just want new text messages sent from you to me, to vibrate. I can turn on delivery reports so that's not a problem.

But, when I check the vibrate on received messages, that vibrates when YOU receive the text that I sent aka when the delivery report for the message I sent you, turns to a check mark, it vibrates, but I don't want that.

Oh, ok. I think I get it...
"Delivery reports" are for when you want to know that your txt msg you sent is received by your friend. "Notifications" or "vibrate for notifications" is all you want checked if I am right.
Are you using the stock msg app? Stock ROM/unrooted?
I use Handcent, so I'm not super familiar with stock. But it should be the same.

EDIT:
I forgot. You should try a factory reset.

Yea sorry, was thinking to include that I am stock but I guess I never typed it out. So you say just check the "Notification Vibrate" and uncheck the "Received Message" category all together?

I would try a factory reset but the vibrating problem I described was factory already! Guess factory resets don't help all the time :p

That's the ticket!

Hope that is what you were looking for.

Didn't do the trick :( might have to go to a factory reset :p but in all seriousness, when the delivery report reports back that my message was received by you, it treats it as a "received message" I guess? and it triggers the vibrate. It's kind of annoying but I guess I can deal with it. I can either not have delivery reports, or just know that a buzz after I send a text means that the text I have sent has been received rather than me receiving a new text.

Is everything under delivery reports clear/unchecked? Or do you want to be notified of when your send message is received?

That's the problem. There are no options besides checking or unchecking delivery reports. Nothing more detailed than that. I don't want to be notified of any delivery reports, I just want to be able to go to your name and say "oh you still havent responded? you received my message though." i only want to get notifications for new text TO me. i dont want ANY notifications about messages sent FROM me.
