Root Help please which rom for sg 2.3.3 qvh !!

Hi all, ok ive decided to try and root my samsung galaxy s running 2.3.3 gingerbread build XWJVH ,can anybody reccommend a custom rom for me, ive looked at Darky and looks quite good, any feedback please, i used to have a hero and rooted that ok but im a bit confused how to to go about rooting the galaxy s as dont wana brick it, hope to get some help soon and thankyou from Brian

The fastest and easiest way to root a Galaxy S is to flash a custom, prerooted kernel.

Bur if you want to flash, say, Darky's ROM (a custom ROM), you can download the 10.2 which is 2.3.4 based. You can either:

1) flash the DarkCore kernel through Odin to get ClockworkMod recovery through which you flash the Darky's ROM 10.2 EXTENDED EDITION, or

2) flash the Darky's Rom 10.2 RESURRECTION EDITION through Odin - WARNING: flashing the phone this way wipes your system!

Now you choose which one you want
