Google Voice App Issue / Problem upon Startup - Stopped Unexpectedly - Force Close

Lately, every time I startup or re-boot my phone, I get the following error message right after startup:

Sorry!

The application Google Voice
(process.com.google.android.apps.googlevoice)
has stopped unexpectedly.
Please try again.

[Force Close]
This happens each and every time I turn my phone on - every single time.

I get this message - every single time.

I'd like to know if anyone else with the Sprint HTC Hero is having this problem?

I don't know if this is:

1) a problem with my phone

2) a problem with the GV App

3) a problem related to the Sprint HTC Hero

4) a problem with Android 1.6.xxx (or whatever version we have now) not being compatible with the latest GV app
Please provide input.

I don't see any related posts on this matter and I hope to get this matter resolved, or at least know the source or information on this issue.

After hitting the "Force Close" button (for which I have no choice to get to the main scene desktop), once I select (or start running) the GV App by tapping on the GV App icon, everything appears to be fine and in working order.

In other words, I only get the error message upon startup.

EDIT:

My initial guess here is that this started after the last GV App update.

I'm not sure uninstalling, and re-installing, will help here.

If you have the GV App on your Sprint HTC Hero, please indicate if you are, or are not, having this error message upon startup.

Is there a way to bring this to the Developer's (Google's) attention?

A formal way to report a bug that actually gets someone in command a listening ear?

Is this problem unique to Sprint's HTC CDMA Hero?

Perhaps we should somehow work together on how to report this bug, or defect, and accomplish getting this matter resolved.

Do this, reboot your phone and then...... wait. Let it fully load everything before you touch it. I can get Google Voice to force close every time if I reboot and then try to use the phone too soon but if I wait for a minute or two after it has gone to 'sleep' then it is just fine.

I think GV is one of the last apps to load and will crash if it is not fully loaded when you use (or wake up) the phone.

I have rebooted the phone and forgot about it for a hour. When I turn the phone on after leaving it untouched for that time, the force close notice is waiting for me from Google Voice. When Google Voice is reopened, it does work fine. My phone is the Sprint Hero running Fresh 1.1,

I get the same error message at the same time.... Sprint / Hero
However, the application seems to work as expected.
