Let's See Your Screens (Screenshot Pictures of Homescreens)...NO ROOTING NECESSARY

After much fiddling, I think I have mine set for the time being. Files used are Go Launcher EX with Honeycomb theme and Fancy Widgets (clock/weather).

Also, don't forget that a quick way to install apk files is to email them to your Gmail account as an attachment. In Gmail, you'll see an option to install directly from the message. Very handy if you don't have your data cable nearby!

Using Fancy widgets and Elixer for the buttons and shortcuts. I used the Moto phone portal to get them to my computer. The screen catcher is cool. I had one like it on my last phone but it was rooted to use it. Phone portal is cool too.

Try this again. See if I got the pics this time.

I'm using it also. Great app and serves the sole purpose of showing the percentage on the notification bar, while at the same time showing single percentage increments vs. the other battery apps that aren't programmed to override Motorola's 5 or 10% increment settings.

Another good one is Battery Circle. Very simple notification bar app with few options. Wont take you to the battery settings but I like how it looks and the 1% increments.

Is there a way to modify the lock screen (even in minor ways) with the stock UI, or do you have to use an app like WidgetLocker? I actually like the MoPho's default lock screen, but I dislike how dark it is.

I don't think there's a way to edit/modify the stock lock screen.

I actually liked the colors of the stock lock screen, but I hated the responsiveness of the side lock. I purchased WidgetLocker just to be able to use a customized version of the Sense locker (swipe down to unlock), but because of WidgetLocker being so customizable, I found the pacman theme that I just couldn't pass up.

Ooh, so WidgetLocker resolves that issue? That's another thing that bugs me about the lock screen, but it wasn't a big enough deal for me to go hunting down a solution. If one presents itself, however... :)

Oh yeah. At first, I thought maybe I was being overly critical (just trying to find out what "bugs" were on the phone). Once I switched to WidgetLocker, the unlock seemed much more responsive than it was with Motorola's lock screen.

I really do love Motorola's color scheme (dark blue/midnight blue is my favorite color), but not enough to deal with the lock screen not really responding like it did on my EVO (which was instant, all the time).

Yes battery circle is the app I am using. I tried Lock Menu https://market.android.com/details?id=com.husmithinc.android.lockmenu&feature for a bit. Its free and does a lot of custom things with the lock screen. The only problem I had and the reason I quit using it was because every now and then I would have to unlock with it and then again with the stock lock screen. It was annoying. I am currently using a live wall paper that allows you to use a custom pic on your lock screen. It also uses a different pic on every one of your screens. A lot of things you can do with it. It is called Multi Picture Live wall paper. https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture

I had the Multi Picture running all day yesterday and my battery life was great. It didn't seem to affect that.

Citizen Coyote, drexappeal...regarding the lock screen....
There are a couple of apps I've found in the Market (free & paid versions of both) to change the "unlock" screen. Coming from the Evo I liked swiping the screen down to unlock & just couldn't get used to swiping sideways. It felt weird so I started searching for a solution. MY solution (it's not perfect but it does the job) is the free version of Ripple Lock. There's another app called Agile Lock that will change your unlock screen. A friend of mine was my Guinea pig, he tried both & preferred Ripple Lock over Agile Lock. Like I said, it's not perfect but I like it much better than I like swiping left to right. The free version works well enough for my purposes so I'm not going to pay for it but I'm sure the paid version works better & has more options.

Thanks for the info. Can you send me the links from the market? I can add those to the "Launcher" thread for those that want to try them out.

I'm personally using WidgetLocker and absolutely love it. I too wanted to swipe down, rather than from left to right, but I noticed that when I switched to widget locker, it didn't quite lag as much as the stock lock screen did, so I kept the Pacman theme that I use for my unlocker.

HELP!!! The screen grab app from SDA will not down load... yes I allowed 3rd party apps but my phone begins the download then stops and says that it is not supported. Any thoughts???

Open the XDA thread from your computer:

Screen capture app for Atrix *Updated* - xda-developers

Then use a scanner to scan the QR code:

Also be sure that in your phone settings, you have the box checked for allowing apps to install from "Unknown Sources."

Here you go!

Check out Ripple Lock(free) on the Android Market! https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free

Check out Agile lock free on the Android Market! https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.SenseScreen

These are links to the free versions but there are links to the paid versions on the screen.

I finally got this to download today. I literally didn't change anything at all. NOTHING!! I don't know why it wouldn't download before, I tried scanning the QR code & going to the thread from my phone & downloading from there. Every time, I got the error message. At this point it's become more about principal than need!

**Correction** I downloaded a new browser yesterday but I don't think that would have anything to do with it. Who knows!

Yeah, I remember your having an issue with it too! I felt so bad because every option I was trying to give you wasn't working. Glad you finally got it though!
