Root HUGE Battery Problem...

Ok I just got another Evo after I lost mine. This was with 2.2 and I rooted yesterday. I flashed Mik1 Beta but i am having a huge battery problem. My phone will not stay charged at all and can not hold a charge. I can charge it to 100% at night, unplug it, and with no use at all whatsoever, it will be almost dead in the morning. And let's say I turn the phone off at 15% battery or so. Well it will not turn back on at all. It seems it's using juice even if off? This is very strange.

Any guidance at all onto what could be the issue?

Thanks!

Try flashing a new kernel, Golden Monkey and Freedom are both good choices. If that doesn't work try redownloading the Rom and flashing it again or trying a new ROM out.

That is the kernel I have right now.

I also downgraded my PRI to 1.77 and the NV to 1.77 as well and got the newest radio. Does this make a difference?

You might have a bad battery but go to settings>About Phone>Battery and see if the uptime and awake time are the same. Go to Battery Use and see what is using your battery if they are.

Yeah I checked this but it's not the same at all. So the phone is sleeping. It just does not hold any charge at all.

How can I tell if it is a bad battery before buying a new one just to make sure that is really the problem?

Do you have another Evo around you could swap it with? You can also try and charge it to 100% and run the battery calibration app before unplugging it. How did your battery do on the stock kernel?

No I did not have another Evo to test this on. Would a Sprint store let me try that?

Actually, now that I recall, it had a battery problem when I got the phone. I bought it used from a dude. But I saw he had the PRI at 1.9 and I know that caused me problems. So I downgraded it after I flashed Mik Beta. And it seemed to fix it a little but still a big issue.

Then I proceeded to flash the Golden Monkey kernel, the newest radio and downgraded the NV.

Only thing that concerns me, is the phone will not turn on if I turn it off at say 15% battery. So is the battery running even with the phone off?

Thanks guys! Just bought one and hopefully that fixes the issue.

As I am on the topic, what NV goes with the PRI 1.77?? I see 1.71 and 1.77.

And I have the newest radio as well flashed. Could this cause a problem with not playing right with everything else such as the rom or kernel?

for me i only downgraded my pri to 1.77 and i have not had any issues. i would not mess with nv unless your having issue connectivity issues. also if you mess with the radios make sure that you have a nandroid backup with wimax saved some place safe in case you loose them. radios is a confirmed way of loosing your wimax keys so be careful and make sure you have plenty of battery life before attempting it.
