Home Screen Tips, vesion 1.0?

I just got an Optimus V and on my home page?, There is a green robot with a black text balloon with 6 tips. Is this the Home Screen Tips app?
If so, in manage apps, it won't let me uninstall it.
This is my first Android phone.

Have you tried to move it to the trash instead? It sounds like a stock app. widget. If that is the case, you can't uninstall it.

I was able to drag it into the trash.

You can't uninstall it because it's a system app. Many pre-installed apps cannot be uninstalled (without root).

Glad you figured out how to remove the widget from your screen though.
