Unlocking the Infuse

We are planning a trip to Europe, and I was wondering if it's a good idea to unlock the Infuse to use with a European SIM card while there. Are there any problems with the phone updating or connecting to the ATT network if it's been unlocked?

Is it possible to use the Infuse as a hotspot there if I have a data SIM card from there? (I haven't used it as a hotspot here, because I don't want to give up my unlimited data plan.)

We're going to Germany and Austria, so any advice you have will be very welcome. I'll need Internet access for my computer while floating down the Danube - with no wifi on the boat.

I would recommend you to confirm with AT&T before you go for your trip to Europe. If the phone is unlocked you can use with the local sim card. If you use the AT&T data plan as hotspot there it may charge you more.
To unlock For a fee, some service providers will even give you the unlock code for your phone. There are also third party companies that provide cell phone unlock codes for a fee that ranges from $5 to about $25, depending on the model of phone you have. i will suggest the website TheUnlockSpot.com which is doing good service .....you can approach this website.

If you are on the AT&T or T-Mobile networks there isn't anything more to the process than getting the phone unlocked so that it will work on the local network and then buying a local SIM card. This will give you basic voice and messaging services. Data would be a separate issue. Try this link for a couple of data suggestions.

I unlocked my Infuse, at first my internet and mms messages where not working with my T-mobile sim, but after I editedmy apn settings, it worked, the only thing.bb is that im only getting on the edge network with a 4g sim card. Is there a way I can get 4g to work with my t-mobile sim??

There may be someone who can chime in but I do believe you will find a faster answer on XDA
