Do not buy this Desk Charger

HTC Desire Dual Desktop Charging Cradle

Arrived today, does not fit the Desire.
Phone won't fit into the cradle width wise and no way for the USB port to line up with the USB part of charger.
It says on box "Nexus One" seems they have assumed it will fit Desire.
Sending back tomorrow.

Not a clue how they managed to make it fit in the photos but it doesn't fit my phone in.
Its not lined up and its too tight so phone just pops out no matter how hard i try to make it stay put.

I have a case coming from them tomorrow so I hope that fits.

Thanks for the tip, I was planning on getting one of these. I also have a case coming tomorrow from them and if it doesn't fit properly it's going straight back!

From the site it certainly looks like a desire sitting in a cradle to me, have they not just sent the wrong one?

Wow, really glad I saw your post! I was about to order that one.

However, are you sure you received the correct one? It's possible there are two models, one for the nexus and one for the desire, you just got the wrong one from the warehouse or something? The one in the image appears to fit fine, it seems odd they would go to such lengths to lie about something when they know the products are just going to get sent back!

I guess we'll find out when you send it back tomorrow!

It is unacceptable our customers have been misled regarding the range of Nexus phone accessories that have been incorrectly described as Desire Accessories and I take full responsibility for the issue. If we've let you down, please give us a chance to put things right.

I have personally checked all our Desire products and everything on the site is now accurate and correct.

I will arrange a refund and will send out the real Desire docks (which are due to arrive within the next 4 weeks) free of charge. Just contact me directly and I promise to sort each individual issue, problem, request speedily and to each customer’s full satisfaction.

Has anyone purchased the Deluxe HTC Desire Desktop Charging Cradle from Mobilefun

All I want is a very basic dock for my desk, as close to the ones Apple sells for iPhone as possible. No need for additional battery charging, just a basic stand so it's not lying flat and the back of my phone is getting scratched when I put it down to charge.

The one on Mobile Fun looks okay, but the reviews aren't as positive as I'd like. Plus,

Slightly off topic but I bought a leather flip case from said company for my HTC Desire and guess what, the case was for a Nexus One, all they had done was stick a white label on the packaging saying HTC Desire. And the case didn't even fit,

Personally I am looking for an extra battery and this dock also looks great.

1200 mAh is not much but could do as a 2nd battery, together it would be 2600 mAh (with the standard one).

I have a charger that looks very similar to the one you mention, but on this occasion not purchased from Mobilefun like I normally do. Not only does my Desire fit perfectly, its fits in the charger complete with its Casemate Barely There case on it.... so maybe you did get the one for a nexus.

P.S Jazz and his team have always been good for customer service, so a call to them when a problem arises (and posting on the forum), should get the right result ....

First, after the response from MobileFun, I think the heading on this thread, "Don't Buy This Desk Charger" should be amended. This is what I call excellent Customer Service. I am glad to see this as I have bought many items from MobileFun in the past without a single problem. I have this charger and it has worked really well on my Desire HD including charging the extra battery which I bought from eBay and mentioned in RobinAugy's post above. I actually bought 2 of these batteries which both last a lot longer than my original HTC battery. For some unknown reason the eBay seller wouldn't post the 2 batteries to me here in N. Ireland which is part of the UK and has the same Royal Mail postage rates. I had to get them sent to my daughter in Leicester and luckily she was visiting home a week later.

It's usually either ignorance as they believe there is only one (intl) postage rate for the whole of Ireland or they use couriers that want extra to cross water. I've pointed out to many private sellers and companies that items sent to NI via Royal Mail cost no more than than any other part of the UK - some then will post but others simply ignore it and continue to rip off/alienate customers here.
