My take on the HTC/Beats deal. Seeking Opinions

So basically I have three theories, all of which could come true simultaneously.

HTC does like HP (on the TouchPad) and markets HTC phones "with Beats" or "powered By Beats". It's the most popular scenario but I don't think it will be this simple.

HTC bundles the low end Tour Headsets with future HTC Devices. IMO most likely scenario.

Really darkhorse possibility (most unlikely but wish it happens) HTC makes their own personal music player (to compete with iPod Touch) with different price points bundled with three tiers of different range Beats headphones.

Explained further in my post:

Android Bugle: HTC teams up with Beats by Dr. Dre, what does it all mean?

I was just wondering what do you guys think? Could it work?

I'd go for the top option.

Aside from battery life, the biggest criticism levelled at the Desire HD was the external speaker. I'm under the impression the sensation suffered similar criticism. Hopefully, we'll see an improvement in future handsets thanks to this.

Isn't 300million awfully steep for just "with Beats" branding and "better" internal sound processing?

Not if it's marketed heavily enough.

I know a lot of folk who use their handset as an MP3/portable music player, if they were picking up a new phone and it came down to 2 handsets one of which had Beats, the "With Beats" would probably sway it.

I can imagine they'd throw some sort of low end headphones in with them too.
