Free Calls and Texting Apps

I've tried several texting apps, without much luck. I do really like Kik Messenger. It's very fast and powerful. It does not use your text limits. It does use your data plan. The only drawback is that everyone that you text must also have the app installed on their phone. Lukily though, the app is offered on Android and Iphone, so that covers nearly everyone that I know.

Try Textfree.

It's free texting, you do get a new number, but it's in your area code so it's not THAT bad. It does use data, or wi-fi but that shouldn't be a problem with all the hotspots everywhere. It even sends MMS as well.

There's also textPLUS but as nice as the app looks, it's actually not so great, I didn't care much for it. It gives you a number from outta state and oft time freezes.

Those two are the only two apps I know, for android anyways.
Hope it helps.

****UPDATE****
I actually just saw a new texting app. It looks nice, it's called Text Me! -Free Texting.
It's in beta atm though, so it may not be so good.
