Samsung admire now available- How many people are gonna switch?

Yeah, I didn't see it when I used my zip code either.

Edit: I take it back. I went back to the website and it was listed on the 1st page when it scrolls through the phones they are highlighting. However, when I click on shop for phones and just select Samsung for the manufacturer, and Android as the OS, it doesn't pop up for some reason. That is how I tried looking for it the 1st time.

Not worth the upgrade over the Optimus IMO, but a nicer option for those new to Android on Ghettro... ehm I mean MetroPCS.

I love my Optimus M, but HATE the service provider. Couldn't even pay my bill on time last week because their system was down for a day. They were more than happy to collect a $3 fee to pay by phone though (BTW, the automated message said that no payments could be processed at the time)

Yeah that seems like horrible talk time. Checked the site, Optimus M says 7.5 hours.

It's nice that it's got Gingerbread and supports flash, but the fact that it's not 4G capable turns me away.
This also for me. I'd rather wait for the Bryce but trying to decide if $129 vs $379 is worth the 4g, Unless we could get 3g on the admire?

It happens even in the best families dude.... how many times have you had problems paying online? honestly?

Not to long ago, all ATT and verizon phones had no signal, couldnt make calls not even 911 or send smss in the area and metro PCS and sprint were the only ones up.... something fried their towers.............

The Admire is EVDO capable, same as the optimus, ascend and pretty much all the phones in the lineup right now.... no EVDO available yet everywhere so.....

The batt life on talk time may be horrible, buut I played with my friends all day today at work and it lasted just as much as my optimus would have... if not more... i guess for everything but phone calls its great..

will not switch though. will be waiting for the next best thing!

We have been with GhettoPCS since '04. That is LONG before Android even existed. What happened with me not being able to pay my bill is just the tip of the iceberg with those scumbags! I have horror stories about their lack of service.

Over the years I have had CellularONE, BellSouth Mobility, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and MetroPCS. Metro IS THE WORST OF THEM HANDS DOWN!!! It is not the signal, towers, etc. that makes me hate them. It is the fact that they ARE completely GHETTO and even though I am a well respected business professional, they treat me like I am some gangbanger EVERY time I call or visit them with ANY problem. I have been working on my wife for two years now to leave them, but the cheapest we have found for comparable service is $50 more per month, so we have not done it. I visited Sprint today because I get a corporate discount and I am going to try to convince her that we need to move.

Sell your story to someone else. What are you an employee of theirs?

Not at all... Im not trying to sell you anything... nor want to, or care to do so... I just say my experience. Have I had problems with metro? Yes, did I have problems with T-mobile when i had them 4 years ago? Yes, absolutely... does my brother in law has problems with ATT and his over rated iPhone?? Absolutely.... And my best friends wife loves her HTC EVO 4G White on Sprint... the 2 hours a day its on her hand.. the rest of the day on the charger, when it wants to charge since its the 3rd phone she's had replaced due to a broken charger port.... also all of them pay a month between 30-70$ more than I do. I dont feel fooled.

What amuses me 99% of the times is that people calling metro piece of s*** or ghettopcs are people who use them as cell phone provider...

Metro seems to have something you can't find anywhere else... a non-rip-off cell phone company... not overrated and not cheating... you being a business professional, affordability should not be a problem for you. No offense.

You should see the JD Power results, MetroPCS falls behind sprint and t-mobile on customer satisfaction, then comes boost mobile, att and verizon, then us cellular and alltel wireless.....

I insist, i haven't had any issues that force me to sign a 2 year contract to get the same stuff I get with metro.... I see myself more than helped whenever i visit their main store here in naples fl. I wont say that I haven't been on cheap ass looking stores with the worse personnel, in fact ... i went to a metro store once and they had a puppy sale inside the store (what the F)... but you gotta realize they are only authorized dealers... unfortunately for metro that is the face they are getting.

I am truly sorry about your experience.....
But think of this. Why did MetroPCS in the last year added 4 million customers, doubling its lifetime subscribers????

And no, I do not work for them. I work for an auth dealer for Verizon wireless. not that you care either.

You are close to me then. I live in North Cape. The corporate store I have to deal with is the one in front of the Edison Mall. Now I do understand that probably 90% of the customers in that store ARE from the extremely poor Ft. Myers area that surrounds it, but that is still no excuse to treat people like crap just because they walked through the door. I have actually seen worse treatment to other customers while waiting in there than myself.

Dealing with their phone CS is no better and they almost always just refer you to the store to get anything done anyway. That is if the person on the other line even understands English. Maybe if I was dealing with the Naples store I would be less angry at them. Next time you are up this way you should stop in to the Ft. Myers store and observe for a few minutes. It is SAD!

Interesting that Sprint and T-mobile score above them and the others are below since those are the other two I am considering right now. I will not go with AT&T or Verizon due to their recent change to no unlimited data. T-mobile will throttle down speeds, but they still have plans that do not charge overages. I can easily manage minutes, but not data use since the phone even uses it without asking and we have four phones on the plan.

The main store that your speaking of is the one on Vanderbilt beach rd right? If so that store is very nice i like going there.

Even though i agree with u on that the store next to Edison Mall sucks. I might have to take the trek down there the next time I have a problem (assuming I don't switch next month). The store in front of Edison is awful. The freak show guy running that place belongs in a nut house! Over the years I thought he would likely get fired for being so off, but instead I have seen him progress up the ladder and now I do believe he is the head of the whole office now. I am (unwillingly) in that place too often.

Yes, i hate that store. I went there once never went back. I stick to the one in Naples. Very good atmosphere aswell. Also out of all the authorize dealers in Bonita Springs there is only one that is any good. I mean im sure its like that with every company

It sucks though, because the in metro stores near my house, upgrading a phone is a hassle. Plus you can't do it without the account holder present, so I will have to bring my dad.

Do it online, dont pay any extra and all you need is online access, so if your dad has the online account you have to have him but thats all.

Hmmm, I'll have to check out that subforum. :)

I'll be replacing my Optimus M with the Esteem. My wife will probably keep her Optimus a little longer.
