LED notification for instant messages

I can't figure out how to make this work. It doesn't show up as an option in notifications, although I can do it it with pretty much everything else.

I get tired of having to turn on my phone like it is a damn iphone, to see if I have an instant message waiting. I get dozens a day, and really don't like that I can't simply glance at the phone and see if one is waiting.

Is there a setting for this, or an app to make it work? The Instant Messaging app for Yahoo, etc. seems like it could use an update. I don't get the "so and so is typing a message" like I used to on my BB when the other party was typing. I keep interrupting them now if we have a conversation going, and then miss their messages when I'm not staring at my phone. Shame...

Ok, guys. Tried Meebo, and it is unfortunately no good. Yes, the light blinks, but that's where the good times end...

The program would basically shut down and log off if I was on a phone call. It wouldn't log back in until I physically clicked on it. This would also cause the entire conversation I was having just prior to my phone call to be completely deleted for good...

The text was also extremely small, and the notification bar always stayed clogged with a notification that the program was open.

So, I guess what it made me do, was to feel better about the Yahoo app until they come out with a blasted update that makes the light blink...

Not sure what your settings are, but I just called my phone from a landline while Meebo was logged on to my AIM account. I answered the phone, spoke a few words, logged in to a different AIM account on my desktop pc, sent an IM to my account on the phone, received the notification (including LED blinking) then ended the call. Meebo was still signed in and active after ending the call and I was able to send another IM back to my desktop pc without having to 're-login' on the mobile phone. I have no issues with Meebo. Maybe something/another app is conflicting with your setup. Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you :(

Were you connected to wifi at the time? If so, then you'd get internet and voice at the same time, and it wouldn't disconnect. The day I had problems, I was in the car.
