Does anybody have a perfectly working Lg optimus M from metropcs? What i mean is a stock version no rooting/modding or anything. I recently took it back to the store, the lady did a factory reset and my phone still freezes and locks up and ends up restarting but it does it less after a factory reset. Did anyone get a perfectly good running phone?

Mines had the same problem I would get around 5-10 reboots a day and I barely even used the phone.

I am rooted and now installed the sense ROM and have yet to have one force close, freeze, or restart in over two days.

This is a known issue with this phone.
If after they master resetted thephone is still behaving like that take it again and they will replace it.

it will be 10 dollars for the replacement and will take 3 days to get it in store, or 30 and they'll replace it over the counter.

The issue has been investigated, most likely its when it runs out of memory, its the phones "way of survival", the reset clears the phones RAM.

I have to say i have one of the original optimuses (it came with 2.2) and i never have had any problems. I just upgraded it to 2.2.2 and still runs beautiful. I do have Advanced task killer set for every half hour. Idk. I think it helps.

BTW my phone is rooted but that does not make any difference on the power cycle issue, it didnt do it when it wasnt rooted.

Most likely will be fixed with the release of 2.3.4 once its released by LG.

Do not use a task killer. You will not find one single Android expert that will recommend them. Many think they do more harm than good. This version of the OS already has its own memory management built in to it. Just because you see an app as loaded, that does not mean it resides in the RAM. Remember that this is Linux based, not Windows.

i have a stock version (2.2.2) when i bought it was 2.2. i've never rooted this phone and ever since i got it back in December it has not rebooted, just a couple freezes here and there (which is normal) for Androids but nothing major. up until today i can say i've had a perfectly working Optimus. the minor freezing problems and lag seem to have been fixed with the 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 updates:D

I had this problem when I first got the phone. I took it back within the first month, so they replaced it over the counter for free. I had to do this 3 times until I finally got a good one. The one I have now (my fourth) has never had any problems. I think it is maybe on a different update than the first three, because I have noticed subtle differences. I'm happy to report that it has not rebooted once since I got it, and I have had it for over a month now. It is apparently a known issue with the phone.
