Sorry. I posted this and then figured it out.

Hello. I was showing my brother that you could take a stock EVO and hold the power down button while powering it on and go into the menues. However I clicked on the recovery option and now it is showing a downloading arrow with a green refresh symbol. I pulled the battery and put it back in and it still shows the symbol when I try to boot it up.

Hos phone isn't rooted or anything. How do I boot it back on?

How long did you leave the battery out? Did you try and go back to the bootloader(holding volume down+power) or did you just try and boot it normally?
