Root HELP! Serious problem with recovery!

i mightve made a huge mistake on my evo... i wanted to flash the official gingerbread stock rom on my evo but both rom manager and clockworkmod gave me problems, so i flashed amon RA recovery. so the rom did install correctly and booted up but it everything in the rom was force closing so i decided to restore my old rom but i couldnt find it backup in amon RA revovery so i switched back to clockworkmod and found the backup file so i restored it and failed saying- failed to restoer boot image and this happened twice so i did a advanced restore for the boot image but i got the same error and now when i try to reboot the phone it just hangs on the splash screen...

please please PLEASE help me! :(

Now im not a pro at this and im actually not that informed but i did hear around that you cant switch from clockwork to amon_ra and back and forth with recoveries because then they become invalid and wont work anymore you have to restore either or and dont switch and except your recovery to work

If you backup amon_ra you stay with amon_ra and you can load your backup but if you backup amon_ra and then switch to clockwork and then back to amon_ra your image is then corrupt (thats just what i heard i dont know if its confirmed)

so im not saying this is true i just heard it was.

you can go back and forth if you want to. you just can't use the previous recovery's nandroid backup. they will not work with each other. i go back and forth sometimes. i'm trying out teamwin's recovery out, but i go back to amon ra for various reasons. so you can just no nandroids.
@ocnbrze
i cant swith back. when i try it just says fail

i think im screwed ... :(
try and re-download the amon ra file and try again. you can go back and ofrth if you want to. as long as you can get to hboot. we can get you going.
