well if you asking on roms then try mikg 2.45. i'm not sure how everything will handle being on a different network. but mikg is a great rom and if you use either golden monkey or freedom kernel should help out with battery life.

well just for the basics... free wireless tether(i'm actually running my internet on my comp through my phone right now!), COMPLETE CUSTOMIZATION, tweaking for performance/battery life, and a lot of other things but those are the basics that you can accoplish with rooting and custom roms and kernels. what were u looking for? i was a newb a few months ago but after as much reading as i have done and rooting on several other peoples phones i have come to know quite a bit especially thanks to ocnbrze! he has helped me a lot.. he's actually helping me with a problem right now... if you have any questions dont hesitate to pm me or hell, even text me if u want lol im always ready to help a newb!

(ps: welcome to the forums! in case nobody has told u yet lol)

MAN, thank u SO much. I have a guy interested in driving 3hrs to buy the 3D I have...tomorrow! honestly, its bone stock, but told him i would have it "fully rooted" when he comes to pick it up (craigslist) So, u see my situation is a difficult one..

so worried to possibly own 5 paperweights lol

And that's where you're headed if you don't pick a single path and stay that course.

ocnbrze was right - you need to slow down and read the information offered in his post.

I made my suggestions here - http://androidforums.com/evo-3d-all-things-root/400069-evo-4g-3d-root.html

Please decide which thread you'd like to stick to, and we'll all help you. If you go to multiple threads in multiple forums, we won't duplicate efforts because if we did, you'd end up with confusion and worse.

Frankly, if it's your intention to simply root the 3D in a hurry without knowing what is involved so that you can maintain a sales claim that wasn't true at the time you made it on craigslist, then I'm disinclined to help you in any case.

I see no reason to help you turn a profit when others need help getting basic functionality.

So - slow down, pick a path, read the info given before asking more questions.

Thank you. :)

Plz forgive me for not including link to post. I have them posted as all for sale w/ options of rooting if wanted (w?everyone always wanting the rooted one) I have ahd days to find something I felt comfortable with performing on any of these phones. Even tried back on craigslist for people/stores, that can perform mild or full root for u. All of these have been able to offer nothing but free wifi-hotspot.

well EarlyMon is right... you shouldnt have made the sales claim if you had no idea what it even was or how to go about it... i dont think anyone said they didnt like you lol but that does seem a bit shady... before you do something like that just make sure you know what your doing... you cant just JUMP right into something like this... i spent over 4 hours a day for like 8 days reading HUNDREDS of threads before i tried rooting my evo... and that is no exaggeration at all lol the the mod said you just need to slow down and figure out what your doing before you even approach it.

If you work with us and let us work with you so no there are no bricks, we'll like you just fine. ;) :)

We do answer panic mode requests all of the time - but because of the high volume of those and the critical need of the users involved (read: it's their only means of phoning people at all), we simply must prioritize which panics we go for.

Spent some time reading - each and every one of us came up the ranks that way, it's the best way - and you'll be rooting safer and more quickly than random grabs of instructions.

Our write-ups and our approach are the reason you'll find far fewer "Help, I'm Bricked!!" threads on our forums. :) ;)

Just stay the course.

If you'd have done anything seriously wrong or egregious - I would have let you know privately, no guessing required.

I'll send you a friend request so you feel more comfortable with us. :)

To make a friend request, click on the name, select view profile, look on the right side of their profile page to send the request.
