Looks pretty sweet, I noticed some redraw and a tad of lag when the app drawer opened up, but that is normal when a phone as just been booted up.

Speed test wasnt anything crazy, but I guess the tester only had one bar.

I've been swaying back and forth on getting the Bionic or waiting, but I think this makes me want this phone even more!

Cool, it seems to do the same things and perform similar to my current phone. I will pass on this one after I thought this was my next phone when it was supposed to come out a few months ago.

It's probaby because of the extra RAM that the Bionic has. I use LP for my home launcher and I have no problems with redraws with my D3.

I won't put words into your mouth, but I want to expand on what you said. I think this dual core CPU and boat loads of RAM thing is getting out of control on smartphones.

I have this "lowly" Droid Charge with its 512mb (or whatever it has) of RAM with a single core 1ghz CPU with Go Launcher EX, and it's smooth as butter. Please let me put a disclaimer that I am rooted, but I have no problems and find no need for anything more. I have no lag, no redraw, no nothing. Ever.

I think the Bionic will be just another 4G phone for Verizon. I don't see anything spectacular or groundbreaking about it.

The next groundbreaking thing that I see coming around the corner are HD screens (720p and possibly 1080?). I can see that as being somewhat of a difference maker, but not spec candy CPU's or RAM.

Just my opinion.

The Droid Charge doesn't run Moto's UI. As far as I know, both the Bionic and the D3 run the same build. So the redraws that some experience on the Droid 3 might not be as bad on the Bionic because of the additional RAM. I've read in the Moto support forums that there might be some issues with RAM allocation that causes redraws on the D3 when running the stock UI. I personally don't think it's that bad especially compared to the D2.

Also, I do not think the Droid Charge or the Thunderbolt are "lowly" devices. I think they a very good devices. It is my opinion that whoever bought the Charge and Thunderbolt bought it for 4G not the processor or RAM. So their priorities might be different than the Bionic lurkers.

I don't think Charge or Thunderbolt owners should even look at any other device unless they have an upgrade available or have extra money to spend. I think it's not worth it for people who already have 4G devices.

And I agree that CPU and RAM isn't the next big thing, I think it's screen quality too. However, the potential buyers of the Bionic might not care about the screen but rather the dual core and RAM coupled with 4G is all they need.

Either you are excited by new technology or you're not, nothing wrong with that. The Droid Bionic is largely an evolutionary jump in technology(it's just a more powerful phone), it's not going to really change the way we use our phones.

That said, it does offer all of the same benefits over less robust phones as a new computer does over an older one. It will load programs faster, it will run them faster, it will multitask smoother. The difference will be noticed more as more demanding applications come out, not so much when running very easy to process applications.

Yea, I think the point there is that 4/1Mbps even with one bar on LTE, probably indoors beats the pants off the best case 4 bar outdoors next to the tower 3G result.
