Help Randomly shut off?

I am on my 3d revo sense the 4th of this month. I got the revo as an early upgrade because my droid 2 global was doing the same thing. I had 3 droid 2 globals, and am now on my 3d revo because of the power cycling thing. I have tried everything tech support has suggested. I got the most recent one today at about 545pm and by 845pm it had already power cycled... i created a new gmail tonight per tech support and didn't use the back up assistant. we will see, but i am not keeping my hopes up... anyone out there have any ideas? I don't know what to do... i have another 4 days on my "worry free guarantee" should i keep it and fight it or trade out and get something else???

Had mine since Saturday. It shut off once on Sunday and once today. Called Verizon and the techs said they have no records of this ever happening from other customers and treated me like I was crazy lol.

I think every smartphone these days will do it... but twice in 4 days is a bit concerning for such a new phone. My Blackberry Tour didnt do it till it was used for a year and my Fascinate only did it once a month or two...

What I really hate about mine is that when it locks up and I have to power it off it wont turn back on until I pull battery and wait a bit and even then might have to try as much as three times doing that before it will power up. And your right about Verizon saying they never heard of the problem, they said same thing to me about both issues

yes they did the same to me... NO RECORDS of this kind of problem anywhere! If you look on the reviews for the revo they you will see about a dozen statements in the first 4 pages of reviews that talk about this problem. pretty sad when they can't even read their own reviews. i went through 3 of the revos sense the 4 of this month. I finally told them to take it back and now i am trying the gzone...

Yeah, Ive had to pull the battery a couple times. If we are in here experiencing this problem, I dont understand how Verizon can keep on saying there is no record of it! Frustrating.

I just started my free 3mo Revoution Netflix trial... I really dont want to return this phone but this type of customer service is kind of pissing me off....

WTF is going on any way, it seems just opening an app will make it reboot. This ONLY started happening since the (FORCED UPDATE)

I may be a new Verizon client but my wallet is deeper than putting up with this kind of b/s.

Only problem is I would have to go back to Sprint, NO Sprint 4G in my area YET and that sux.

My phone doesn't have this problem. I'm betting it's worse when they're heavily taxed (easily done considering the bloatware they're saddled with that's always running). I try to keep available RAM high and constantly running apps and widgets at a minimum. I can't prove this has any effect, but I've not been bothered by this problem on any of the various smartphones I've owned (6) though it's been a complaint on all of their various forums. - MarkC

I have had this problem with my revo since about aug. The most I had it shut down on me in a week was 9. Some weeks it doesn't do it at all. I'm on my phone all day, either surfing the web, texting or playing angry birds. I also have the extended battery. I'm thinking about switching to the new RAZR and just putting the evo on my 2nd line or selling it. Anyone want to buy a Revo, lol.

Mine has done it a few times, I'm thinking of taking it back. Missed my alarm twice. I had my OG Droid for almost 2 years and not once had it just shut off. Maybe reboot, but the alarm will still go off then.

I've had the same problem... just received a replacement in the mail and it has only powered off once already. Like Keever, my D1 never powered off like this. Anyone else having this issue?

I started with the D1, great phone, after Froyo update it went stupid. 3 phones later i was giventhe D2 with froyo. Auto reboot all the time and slow. I paid $300 to upgrade to the HTC thundercrap as Tech told me they have no calls on it. well, two days after getting it, auto reboot. after two months of missing calls, they sent a replacement. It shutdown 17 times in one night, locked up where i had to remove the battery, 5 times, same night. VNuts sent me the LG revo.
So far, knock on wood, no auto reboots but i have to touch the app about 2-5 times to get it to open, then it opens everything.
Of course, Vnuts tells me there are no known issues ans i respond well, then read a%$H^&e because i can get on just one forum and find several issues.

I think this is an Android OS issue. Too many different phone makers on my end to be the phone. the only common factor is the OS. How do we get Goodle to assist??
