Got the Incredible yesterday....having problems receiving calls. When I call the phone from another line, nothing happens except its logged as a missed call. The screen doesnt light up and no options for receiving calls. This happened before I installed Google voice. I disabled Google voice and still no joy. Everything else works. I can make calls, browse over WiFi and 3G.

Anything i'm missing?

The phone is gorgeous apart from this very big problem :)

Hi i have the desire and have simlar problems (see below posting text) are you still having this problem or have you heard what's causing it cos it's driving me nuts!

I'm on O2 UK and if my wife rings me from her O2 mobile or from our home landline my Desire doesn't ring but shows the missed call icon in the notification area. what happens on the phone you ring from i.e my wife’s mobile or our landline all you here is 2 short rings then the phone goes dead....I only have wifi switched on and not the mobile network...... that is to say I don't have the 'mobile network' option ticked in 'wireless & networks' screen. Has anyone else had this problem?

PS the phone rings fine when I ring from say my work mobile or my work landline and also from other mobiles including ones on O2 UK.

I suggest you both check 1 of 2 things:

1) azure: check to make sure that you dont have it set for all calls to go to voicemail. I'm having a total brain fart as to where that option is, but I have definitely seen it.

2) mtheed: weird, to say the least. To my knowledge, you have to have the wireless network ON for calls to come in, so I would start by enabling that. Not sure why some phones would ring ok, but not your wife's. Is there something you're not telling her? HAHA I would also check her contact profile- go to her contact card, and make sure the option for "send to voicemail" is off.

I would call VZW about this. I had a similar problem several years ago when I got a new Blackberry. I spent a while on the phone with tech support, but they changed a few things on their end with respect to my phone.

When making a call, does it take a long time to connect? If so, that is similar to what I had too. For some reason, the phone was having difficulty connecting to the voice network, and the phone and network were constantly "searching" for one another.

I know it is frustrating, but call tech support about it. They will work through it with you. Call from a landline or other phone other than your incredible so they can call it while you are on the phone.

I'll have my son call me while standing next to me. No ring,, nuthin'. goes to voicemail. send a text, no problem. so now if he gate my voicemail, he'll send a text and say "call me" Very Frustrating

I have been having the same problem with my Desire S, no end of missed calls. I can have the phone beside me at home, I get a sms telling me ' you have missed a call from....... I look, only to find the missed call came through a few minutes before I got the sms. Today, my daughter called me 4 times, all of which came up as 'missed call' I have checked my settings and it's not set to go direct to voicemail, when my phone does ring, it rings quite a number of times and ringer is loud enough to hear. I have no idea what is going on:thinking: (oops, sorry I think this under the wrong thread)

I'm having a similar problem with my HTC Wildfire, but as far as I can tell so far, i'm only missing calls from 2 numbers, both my partners (1 is Tesco and the other O2, Mine is Tesco). I've tried ringing it from 3 other numbers with no problem. I have called Tesco Mobile, and they have tried different things, the last thing is to do a factory reset, which is what i'm about to do. Any more ideas before I resort to this ?

Have solved this problem now, incredibly just by completely deleting the profiles of the two numbers and then adding them back on as new contacts. Hope this helps some of you with the same problem :)
