iphone for sprint

 Seriously, why do you say that?

Supposedly the iPhone5 still doesn't have 4G. Seriously, this is 2011 not 2007 anymore Apple...

EDIT: and really that's just one of the big things. I could sit here all day and list out the iPhone's shortcomings, but I'm not going to do that. This is an Android forum, everybody should already know this stuff.

Yeah, but you said it was 2 years behind. 4g on sprint is nothing to brag about. I have the Evo and I love it, but I dont see any blazing speeds when i turn on 4g (I live in baltimore which has good 4g reception) and when compared to Verizon LTE its embarrassing. So with 4g not really being anything great, what else makes the iphone5 2 years behind android?

Oh lord... Remember how everybody had a fit about the so-called '4G fee' well its about to get worse. To all the IFlop lovers, why dont u just go to AT&T or VZW? Oh... you like the unlimited data/messaging/talk to any mobile phone (didn't AT&T recently steal that feature from sprint?) Well you may be able to experience those options on Sprint's network BUT you can forget about getting all of that for $79.99... Don't believe me, just wait and see....

On WiMAX I get (along with the majority of users) 4-8 Mb/s download whereas 3G is about 500kbps, that's 8-16x the download speed which is significant on a cell phone. So really WiMAX makes 3G look like more of a joke. Don't even get me started on the lack of usefulness of Verizon's LTE network with it's 2GB data cap. All that speed, no use.

Besides having data that's at least 8x faster.... Upper end Androids have a faster processor, more RAM, a better front and rear camera, bigger display, FM Radio, Flash support (big one there), microSD slot, removable/upgradable battery, more customization capability, widgets, ability to video chat without being on WiFi, ability to get music without using iTunes, USB and HDMI ports.....

Should I keep going?

^I dont know what your going on about, seriously.

You realize Sprint's 3G is insanely slow, right? It is supposed to be ~1.5mbps...which is fine for a phone.

All that processing power, ram and better camera specs never seem to relate to a smoother, faster phone or better pictures...odd, right?

Flash sucks, and you know it. All the flash video is choppy and it doesn't work that well. I have it shut off just so I can browse the web without waiting for all the Flash Ad's to load.

I agree that widgets are nice, and I wish that was a feature of the iPhone, but everything else you've listed are very poor examples.

You seriously sound like someone bashing it based on specs. The thing is, specs are lower but experience is better...so, do the specs really matter if the end user experience is smoother and better?

Can you even show me an example of an Android phone that has side by side proof of better quality video/pictures? (keep in mind the current iPhone is 14 months old)

I'm honestly not defending the iPhone, I actually despise Apple as a company and Steve Jobs even more...but the simple fact remains, they are still the best game in town. I desperately want Android to pick up its game...but I think it may never happen.

Sprint's 3G is actually faster than Verizon's, and no it's not supposed to be 1.5 Mb/s, its supposed to have bursts of 1.5 Mb/s. There is a difference.

Flash doesn't suck. I like to be able to actually playback videos when I browse the web... I'm not expecting an IMAX quality movie here or anything.

The EVO 3D is a smoother, faster, more fluid phone than any iPhone I have ever handled. So is the Motorola Photon and the Nexus S.

I love how every iPhone supporter uses the argument that the iPhone is "smoother" or "has a better experience" but really there's absolutely nothing to support this argument.

The iPhone4 is 14 months old, but from what I have seen the 5 has next to no improvements and it's not even out yet.

I think the only phone I've ever seen that's as fluid as an iphone (No lags, etc.) Is the Galaxy S2, and that phone easily tops the iphone 4 (and possibly the iphone 5) In almost any category (display, camera, maybe battery, etc.) And I've experienced this because my friend has an iPhone 4 and an unlocked SGS2 on AT&T. Even with flash turned "always on" it loaded pages faster than the iPhone 4 and played the video "chop-free" If you really want an Android phone that can compare to the iPhone in performance then the SGS2 is about the only phone you should get.

No doubt the SGS2 is a phenominal phone but ive done some side-by-side comparison with the iPhone4 and my EVO 3D also and the EVO just ate it up.

I agree with this post.

^man, you seriously have rosy eyes for your phone...Ill check back in 6 months

Yeah of course. As of right now the SGS2 and EVO3D are the best phones on the market. Hands down.

Six months from now is a long time in the cell phone market and there will likely be something better released, I can't deny that. I can bet it won't be the iPhone 5 though.
