Root factory reset....

can you do a factory reset when your rooted or is that not a good idea? .... reason i ask is cuz im looking at my sd card and i see folders in there of stuff i dont even have anymore...id rather just start completely clean and flash a rom....

Yes, you can factory reset your rooted phone. A factory reset just deletes your user apps and data and does not touch the rom itself. I would copy your sdcard to you pc and format it. You can copy back anything you want on your card like pics, music, etc...
If you are wanting to flash a rom, MikG 2.5 is a good one to start with. Instructions are in the GB Rooting guide and the link can be found in the Roms and Kernels thread.

i've been flash happy today looking at different roms and wasnt really paying attention to how much stuff was on the sd card.....by formating the card you mean erasing it in the settings on the phone?? what about amon ra and superwipe zip files i have on the card?? will i just have to copy those back over to the root of the card once after i erase it?

Amon you can leave off if you already have that flashed as your recovery. Copy back the Superwipe zip and any other ones that you want. Yes, you can format it through the rom or if you plan to partition it, it will format you card in the process.
