i'm currently with verizon, and my contract ends on november while i'm currently eligible to upgrade for 2 yrs.

i'm planning to have a smartphone - 2gb data plan, 450min talk (39.99) and a 250/300 txt msg for 5 buck for an individual plan

i was browing for sprint's data pack plan, but was unsure how much usage I can have for email because the only unlimited usage seems to be web surfing.
am i correct?

anyways, which carrier would you recommend me? verizon or sprint? i heard att kinda sucks..i do use their internet service, i'm not sure if the bundle will boost the price to be cheaper than verizon (for verizon it'll be around 80-85? right)

also, i know i'm the one in the end that i have to try the phones out and choose, but if you were my case, would you wait for buying an iphone, bionic or nexus prime? from your exp, would you recommend ios or android?

thanks

I'm a Sprint user, but if I were you and I had an unlimited data contract with Verizon, I'd stick with them. Especially if your area has 4G service or is expected to get 4G soon.

A big difference between Verizon and Sprint is that Sprint's 3G network is rather slow, and their 4G network has some serious problems (poor penetration of buildings, for instance) and is generally slower than the Verizon network even when it works.

Advantages of Sprint are that it is cheaper, and may (now that their customer service has improved in the past year or so) have better customer service than Verizon. I seriously considered jumping ship from Sprint to Verizon just before Verizon ended new enrollment in unlimited data plans, but I've been with Sprint long enough that I can still get a subsidized phone upgrade every year rather than every two years, and decided that the savings from that (and from cheaper plans) made it a good idea to stick with Sprint.

Assuming the Nexus Prime is released as rumored, it will probably be the Android phone to get, but it won't be released for awhile (if it is even a real phone with the claimed specs). A disadvantage will be that if the screen is as large as claimed, it will be a huge beast of a phone (which is fine with me, but may not be everyone's cup of tea).

Google around and you will find plenty of discussions of Android vs. iOS (both have their advantages).

Sprints unlimited includes everything. Email, sms, mms, browsing, YouTube, everything. I would go with Sprint. It is truly unlimited. I held an iPhone in my hand for about a minute. I was not impressed but the iPhone is coming to Sprint in October I believe. I prefer Android. Sprint has the Photon and the EVO 3D. The Galaxy S II is supposed to come out next month I believe. These are all excellent phones. If you want affordable and reliable service with arguably the best line of Android phones as well as The iPhone 5 then roll with Sprint. As far as the Bionic goes, overhyped and overpriced in my opinion.

so you are saying data pack ($15), everything is unlimited? i looked at the plan and was wondering why this doesn't cover pictures? i was also confused when they meant "pictures" data. is it sending/receiving pictures? doesnt this actually get covered from txt msging plan?

Which plan are you looking at? The Everything Data Plan with 450 minutes is $69.99. Everything Data with 900 minutes is 89.99. Simply Everything (Unlimited Minutes, Data, and Messaging) is 99.99. All three of these plans have TRULY UNLIMITED Data and Messaging. Whether it is text messages, picture messages, video messages, etc. It is all unlimited.

Ok I see what you were looking at. The "Data Pack" is 15 bucks and includes Data. The 30 buck "Pro Pack" has Unlimited Data and messaging. I assume you are looking at the 39.99 450 minute plan and adding one of the messaging plans. 5 bucks gets you 300 messages. Text, Picture, and Video. Text messages do not use data. Picture and video messages do use data. These data messages would not count towards your data usage even if you don't get a data plan. To get all the other Data using services such as internet, Sprint TV, and Email you need a Data plan. If you don't send many messages then you could get the $5 dollar 300 message pack and the $15 Data Pack. That would get you to about $59. You would then have 300 messages of any kind and Unlimited Data for everything besides messages. 69.99 gets you 450 minutes and unlimited messages of any kind and unlimited data. Making sense yet?
