Root [CDMA] rooted have 2 issues cant find solution

Rooted my phone following the guide. I flashed synergy rom and ziggys kernal.I've got to issue that i cant find a solution to

1. Whenever I start tether my bluetooth headset disconnects i am able to go back in and turn it back on but its a major pain. Hoping there is a way to remedy that.

2. I can not get any encrytion to work when tethered this is a problem as i spend my nights in truck stops with 50-100 other people trying to connect to my tether.

1. Did you restore anything after flashing the ROM? If so factory reset and clear all data, then try it without loading any apps or restoring data. See if the problem persists.

So you're using Wifi Tether or Sprint Hotspot?

Wifi tether:

Open Wifi Tether, but do not start tether. Hit menu button, go to settings. Enable wifi-encryption and change passphrase. Go down to Security and Enable Access-Control. This makes it so they need to know the password and you have to enable them once they are connected. Once you connect your laptop or whatever, you just have to enable it in the drop down.

Sprint Wifi:

Follow the same directions. Open sprint hotspot and make sure tether is off. Select a security option and enter a password. To enable access control, push the manage users and check the allowed users only.
