Root What's with RIL?

i have NO idea what it is, i only ever flashed a radio once before!

apparently 12.54.60.25U_26.09.04.11_M2 isn't reccomended for CM7 anymore, and i'd like to know what the RIL is before i flash another? if i can get longer battery life i'll give it a shot :D

RIL is the the Radio Interface Library allowing the firmware (GUI) to talk to the communications chip on the mother board but is only designed for Sense based ROMS. On a side not if you use a recommended Radio for your ROM you do not need to flash a RIL as the ROM will have the file hardcoded into it. Only flash a RIL when using a Sense based ROM with an alternate Radio to the one recommended by the cook.
