Taking self pics with Android (or camera app for lonely people)

If I have to take pic of myself, there are two options:
-- get a friend to take the pic
-- extend your hand and take the pic with an awkward looking pose (one hand extended, bad angle, etc)

I hate both options equally.

I was looking for an app that allows me the following:

-- connect the phone to my pc (wifi or wire)
-- put the camera (phone) at a convenient position
-- look at the PC screen and see how the pic will appear
-- readjust myself/camera to get the best angle
-- cllck a mouse button and take the pic with full resolution.

(NOTE: I am not looking for videos... only pics)

After several days of Googling, I could not find a simple app that does thiis.

There are apps that allow to take pics via sms, make the phone into a spy camera, use it as a webcam, and a lot of other junk that does useless stuff with the camera... but I could not find a SINGLE app that does what I want (dont mind even paying).

I cannot believe that such a simple app does not exist. Is there not even one android developer who does not have friends and want to take self pics?? Or are all developers very social people.. or maybe they dont care to take their own pics??

If there is an app that lets me do this please point me to it.

Buy a phone with a front facing camera? There are several out there now, and if this is such an important issue to you, you should consider it when making your next selection.

Also, web cams for your computer are cheap.

I have a front facing camera.. it is only 2 mp, compared to the rear camera of 8 mp. I want full resolution of 8mp.

Seriously, there is no app that can do that? I might consider making one if I get time.

[EDIT:] This is exactly the type of app I am looking for, but for Andoid phones.

[EDIT2]: amlothi: please tell me how to use the front camera for the task. Thanks

Solution 1, a "hardware app" ... ;)

Solution 2, using the phone's front cam ...
With my phone, I start the cam and then I can toggle between back and front cam, using a little cam icon :)

Harry

nice ideas both, especially the hardware one ;)

My problem is somewhat different. I dont want the "extended hand" mode as it is too obvious.

And cannot take full length ones.. I'll keep looking until I see the right solution. I think the best idea would be to program one..

Any takers? willing to pay for it.
