Help Media Services draining my BATTERY!!! Help!!!

Can anyone tell me how I can find out which applications are using which android services on my phone? I am having trouble with 1 of my applications switching on my media services Which consequently uses up to 50 percent of my battery. It's even worse when I am at home and I flip on my wifi because when my media services are on, that triggers the dnla services and its further destroyed my battery life. I never had this problem with the droid x. I constantly have to go into the battery usage window in the settings and force stop the media services.

Anyones help with this would be most appreciated.

I'm not sure what app to freeze. Will Titanium Backup help me find it? I will check it out. I am wondering if I fixed my problem by deleting some apps last night that I don't use and some I suspected. I wish I could remember them all but the one I think maybe was the culprit was my Alarm program. I deleted it and then forgot to set up the native app to wake me up this morning (duh)! Thanks for being cool Scuba! I have had the phone about 3 weeks ever since my DroidX starting doing screwy things from the GB update and it was sadly over the 1 year mark for warranty. I was considering rooting it but ran into glitches with the RSDLite program not recognizing my phone. I attempted the Linux way but gave up on that (can't remember why) but probably to lack of time and patience! Anyway I will keep you posted as to whether my problem has been solved after a few days of use. All day today, after every app I opened, I went into battery usage setting to check, and so far I haven't had to force stop even once. Hmmmmm....

I am currently on my second d x 2. My first phone kept giving me the same issue with respect to the media services turning on and staying on and subsequently using about 50 percent of my battery. After about 4 weeks of troubleshooting and shutting down background services and applications, I decided that I needed to trade in my phone for a refurb. Verizon customer service She need to have no idea why this was happening Either. Since I have received my second phone, The problem started to happen when I first turned it on But instead of shutting down background services and applications I simply just let it run its course and ultimately it stopped doing it. I think the phone is doing is an initial media scan of the entire internal storage and external storage and once the scan is complete, it stops running the unnecessary services.

My advice is to be patient with it and let it run its course over the next couple of days and see if it stops on its own. It may surprise you.
