I Read the Galaxy 2 Doesn't have a Notification Light

I read that the Galaxy 2 doesn't have a notification light. If so, why is this? That doesn't make sense. Why would a phone not have this feature? Wouldn't you want to know if you missed a call or text? Does anyone know if they will have add this feature or what the deal is?

I don't think the original SGS had an led light either, but the Epic did so it's the carrier's choice if they want one in or not

Also, I do keep hearing good things about that app called NoLed. It sounds like it is more useful that a single LED light anyway. I was going to use that app instead of the light anyway.

I just read about it in the Favorite App So Far thread in the applications section on here. Check it out. I don't remember the specifics since I do have an LED notification light and kinda skimmed it..but I think it said it puts a floating/bouncing icon on your screen when you have a new notification and your screen is off.

This is another one of those things that bugs me. If it's a super premium phone, why wouldn't it have all the bells and whistles?? Example - Nexus S without FFC or dedicated camera button. Why not put them there and let us decide whether we want to use them or not??

I can see making the call on the front facing cam. That's a lot of work/expense difference. But the LED option and the cam button option...come on! Really? Just put them on there!

Well, you know, making phones isn't really all that cheap. They try to put as much as they can into a phone, but also not too much so that they can actually make a profit off of the phones, and also so that it can be affordable to their loyal customers. Also keep in mind that the phones have to be nice and sexy, and one little thing could kill the beauty. :p :D

Good thing. Not having a light is a deal breaker for me.

I want to walk by my phone and see if I had a missed call or a text. Having to pick it up and slide the screen each time is ridiculous!

Well, on the Galaxy S II you can see all that from the lock screen & you just slide that notification to go right to it. Same with the US versions. I see & know what you mean though. It's nice to know without waking the screen. I hope we have the choice to change colors according to notifications. I'm sure an app or hack from XDA would work.
