I have followed the directions from here and cannot get the Gapps to install. I Have tried several different versions of Gapps, wiped and reinstalled CM7 several times, and this morning took my phone back to stock, rooted, and started all over with the CM7 update. Still cant get google apps to install. Any suggestions? I'm stuck here.

thanks in advance!

I just got it working. I toggled the toggle signature verification and toggle script asserts. i tried the gapps isntall that Azuma linked to, and it failed with the signature verification. I turned signature verification off and left script asserts on. Ran the gapps install from clockwork mod, all looked the same during install - said it completed and was successful (as it always did before) but this time when i rebooted i was greeted with the Google setup screen.

so i guess toggling the script asserts did the trick. CM7 better rock my world after all this...lol

thanks for everyone's help!

He is saying that once you install CM7 you cannot use the recovery that comes up by holding the volume buttons and power button. The only recovery you should use once you install CM7 is the one that you get to by holding the power button, selecting reboot and then select recovery. If you use the 3 finger recovery it either wont change anything or will cause major problems.

Correct, I should have been clearer.

Hey Guys,
It looks like I am having the same issue that you encountered. I tried doing what you suggested, toggling the signature verification and script asserts. But none of the 3 options worked. Do you have any other suggestions for me? I found the backup for the market, but it force closes.

Alex

Did you try holding down the power button and going into recovery that way?

Haha, that did it. I actually figured it out before reading this post. I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to boot to recovery from ROM Manager. Me = noob.

Even after I did that, the GAPPS didn't install the way I expected. It just took me to the market. Isn't there supposed to be a little ui wizard? Doesn't matter, as I have just went and installed everything that I need.

Hi,

I have the same problem you had, and I still don't know how you managed to get rid of it. Please explain it to me step by step in pure english, becouse I'm not native, and it maybe just problem with unterstanding the instructions.

hold down the power button on your phone. From the menu choose reboot into recovery.

install gapps from there.
