Why does Droid email have to suck?

One issue I have with the gmail applet is the inability to edit
forwarded text.

I think it's harsh to say the email client "sucks" but on the other hand
It is not perfect, and its frustrating that there have been complaints
Brought to google without any response. Google is an email company,
I would think they would be more sensitive to peoples' concerns.

I've tried k9 and it is a good program, but I kept getting errors
with it not marking email as being read.

In the mean time I am still using the gmail client, but use th browser interface
When I need to edit forwarded text.

maybe the OP is just a moran?

Good point. He may not even have his accounts setup correctly. His setting my be totally wrong. The only thing we know is that something has made him think email sucks. But he could be suffering from "Breakfast/Lunch" syndrome. That's where you decide that Lunch is caused by Breakfast because it comes after Breakfast everyday!!

The worst is hearing people b!itch about exchange issues. People seem to forget exchange is a Microsoft product not some open web standard. Additionally, myself and many others have had no problems getting it to work. It seems to me that people don't even think before complaining, they never even consider that it could be microsoft's fault, or even their own company and the way they run/configure their exchange server. Instead we hear them complain about the first brand name they see.

I guess that everyone that thinks the email client is good doesn't use it for anything more then just basic email functions. I mean you can't copy and paste or download attachments. Without these two basic elements the email client will never be fine for me. There is much room for improvment I only hope that google pulls through and implements these features in a timely manner.

Edit: Also I forgot to add its lack of ability to display imbeded images. Which is extremly basic and a glaring problem to me.

True, I do only use it for basic email functions, but I can't say I've had the need to copy and paste anything. I don't know why, but that has never come up for me. As for attachments, the only attachments I've gotten in my email are pictures, and they open just fine for me. I would imagine you would be out of luck however, trying to open files from word, excel, etc. I don't need to use my Droid for business email, so I guess many of the issues that people talk about won't come up for me.

I'm able to view embedded pictures just fine so no idea what you're talking about there. The not being able to download attachments or cut and paste text is a bit annoying but not the end of the world. Certainly doesn't mean the email client "sucks."
