Virtual Keyboard doesn't work right

Does anyone else have the issue where, if you type a word, it doesn't auto-correct it when you know it should have?

I have noticed a LOT (like, every sentence) that when the phone lags and can't keep up, which is all the time, it won't even try to correct your typing. For instance, when I want to type the word 'that,' but accidentally type 'thst' my phone, when not lagging, will auto-suggest and insert 'that.' BUT when I am typing along, too fast for it I guess, it totally skips the suggestions and just puts what I type. It does this at least once on nearly every text I send.

That, along with the lagging causing keys to 'stick' which makes it put '8' instead of 'i' or ')' instead of 'b' and typing on the phone becomes about worthless... I can't even use the T9 phone keypad because it almost always makes the first two letters of what I type capitalized and I have to go back and type slowly. It's ridiculous.

Any solutions?

Go into the market and download Better Keyboard.

I got anysoftkeyboard (odd name) because it was free. Lag gone!

the landscape keyboard is what lags. The portrait keyboard seems to be much better, and when you disable haptic feedback, it works great

I downloaded anysoftkeyboard. i dont see a difference at all. is it suppose to be exactly like the stock keyboard?

I did the same thing, and thought it was the same also. then I read the instructions, you have to actually activate it. Don't remember how, but click on the program icon then links, and then the link for the website has instructions...installing and enabling

just did it, i activated it and everything...but its still the same! idk im just gona uninstall it thanks for the help tho

After you activate it, you go to your text messaging app, and instead of clicking the text box to get the keyboard to come up, you press and hold. An option will pop up and allow you to select what keyboard comes up.

Well, after 2 days of having the anysoftkeyboard, my Hero is back to lagging so bad words are mis-spelled. BUT, I do like this keyboard much better... Not really the # button and letter buttons at the top as they are accidentally pressed, but hey.... nothing's perfect.

i installed it again, and did what u said................and it works!!! thank you some much! i def. like the keyboard better (the way it looks) i will try it out and after a couple of days, ill see which one works best.
