Hi guys

I have just under a year to go on my contract now. A 2 year contract is a long time. I still love my desire and always find something to do on it when I have a spare 5 mins, but its tired. I am forever trying to free up storage. Yes, its am issue with all desire users! A year to go with the issue though :(

STill not rooted or upgraded to 2.3 ruu. I guess I should. I doubt the latter makes much difference to storage though?

Cheers guys. Yeah, I know I'd get loads of help on here. It can't be as difficult as the mental software I use at work. I know I have said I'm gonna do It before, I don't know why I have avoided for so long. I reckon ill go for it in the next few days.

Jezz just do it!! root and s-off very easy now and one process I have had mine 18 months and did it the first week I had it and never looked back... Cooked roms are ace..

You could try CyanogenMod 7, Redux or Oxygen rom.

Oxygen rom is a good rom to start with. It's lightweight and clean. I've been using it for couple of weeks and I haven't had any issues with it.

Just make sure that you do a nandroid backup of your current rom before you start flashing roms.

Hope it goes well!

Root it m8 you wont regret it,i waited 9 months before memory issues persuaded me to root and i have never looked back, your phone will have a new lease of life!

In fact my contract has now finished but i have decided to keep my desire because it does everything i need and i can always get the latest update to android via custom roms.

As to what rom you should choose you have 2 choices really either a sense based rom or a AOSP rom,i guarantee you will have fun choosing.

Good luck!

does the gingerbread ruu let you put Google maps on to SD? This would make a big difference
