Help Bad 2.3.4, BAD!!!

Not sure about anyone else, but I just received an OTA of 2.3.4 whilst in the UK. Thought, OK, this will be cool. Upgrade completed successfully (now I am getting excited to see what's new). BAM!!! Unhappiness now settles in.

After the upgrade, I am constantly seeing android.process.acore 'Force Close' dialogs. Applications on SD card seemed to be GONE. Dead shortcuts on my desktops. I've unmounted and remounted the SD card, no love. I know some might say 2 out of 3 upgrades with no issues is great, but this SUCKS!!!

Oh, and I can't root my phone and undo this mess, unrevoked can't handle the new firmware. DOH!!!

Any thoughts or ideas?

Factory reset, format the sd card

Thanks for the response! I suppose my first thought is... CRAP! Second thought... Are you sure this will resolve the issue. 80+ applications installed says this will be a painful process. My backup app (AppBrain) won't run as it's installed on the bloody SD card, so I have no clue whether or not it's got everything backed up.

Thanks! Cheers...

Cary I have the same issue. To make SD card apps work do all of this. Unmount your SD card, then mount it again. Then go to Manage Applications and force close HTC sence. That should fix it until you reboot it again.

Jakob - It took a bit of time, but it does seem that my applications are working again. Thanks for the advice! I hope a FIX comes versus having to wipe the bloody device.

Cheers...
