The Motorola Triumph have ma vote for the worst phone of 2011 what about you folks wat say you.

I really wanted to like this phone but on the 29th day I decided this phone was a no go and returned it to Bestbuy for a full refound I just couldn't make any more excuses why I should keep this phone dispite all of the documented issues which I wont repeate here the deal breaker was the notoriously weak signal 0-1 bar always, ma son's el cheapo flip Virgin phone gets 3-4 bars. And the dreadful battery life from full to zero in 3 hours perhaps due to it always seaching for a signal for those two reasons alone there shouldn't be any 5star ratings for the motorola triumph, Therefore i'm very suspicious of all those glowing 5star reviews on this site and the virgin mobile site these phones are defective and should be recall similar to a vihecle recall i'm not a novice i've been using smart phone since Windows mobile I was the first one to buy the iphone 1 that's right I was one of the suckers that paid $666 for a phone so don't tell me I don't know what i'm talking about SHAME ON MOTOROLA AND VIRGIN MOBILE for releasing such a P.O.S:mad::mad:

I'm one of those 5 star reviews on the site, wrote the review the first week the Triumph came out, and I still love this phone.

I never had to return a triumph and I don't have a single problem with my phone other than the slow starting GPS which I never use.

My roommate, who bought a triumph after seeing mine, also has zero problems with her phone. I get 2 bars when sitting inside my home, 3-4 bars when outside, and my battery lasts me all day with wifi, autosync, and gps turned off. When I just want to listen to music, read ebooks, or play games, I use airplane mode and my battery lasts even longer.

I just wrote this because of your suspicion of 5 star review, not everyone got defective phones, I bet most people didn't actually. An unhappy customer is more likely to write a review for something than a customer who didn't have any problems with his purchase.

I Don't know if this means anything but I got my phone directly from Virginmobile and not bestbuy.

With a grand total of three sentences and so many spelling and grammatical errors that I lost count, Bill2099's post gets my vote for the worst post of 2011.

@Bill2099, if you want to be taken seriously, you really should take some time to proofread your posts. If you can't put together a simple paragraph, do you honestly expect people to trust your technical expertise when evaluating a phone? I'm sorry, but judging by the quality of your post, I would question your competence in operating a smartphone of the Triumph’s caliber.

I am one of the Triumph owners who gives it a 5-star rating. I have owned many PDAs and smartphones, from a Palm to 3 different Treo models to a Dell Axim to a Blackberry to two Androids. The Triumph is, by far, my favorite so far. Luckily, I have had none of the issues that are being reported. Not saying that they don't exist; just that I haven't experienced them.

As far as battery usage, any smartphone will have worse battery life than a standard cell phone...that is common knowledge. If you have all of your radios on and your screen at maximum brightness while streaming You Tube videos via 3G, yeah, your battery might go from full to zero in three hours. Like I said, I question your competence in operating this device.

Worst user of the year? How do I know? I don't.

Its funny, I always see people complain about having 0-1 bars on this phone. First you can't just compare the number of bars as some phones have 5-6 bars and some (like the triumph) have just 4. I don't think I have seen many, if any, complaints about dropped calls/cutting out. I have had 5 minute conversations with 0 bars without a single problem. In other words, the number of bars says next to nothing when comparing two phones.

I am curious why you never tried returning it, is Best Buy a long way away or something? It just seems to me that anyone who was that unhappy (to go so far and say worst phone of the year) would return it sooner than after 29 days and at least try exchanging it once.

There are way too many phones that you haven't tried to call this the worst.

I love my Motorola Triumph and I love the price of Virgin Mobile. Oh, and no contract so I can leave if I ever do decide I hate the customer service, but I've had nothing but good experiences with them so far.

Got mine at BB. I have not had any issues that I think are worth complaining about. Definitely not any worse than other phones I have had previously.

My signal looks low, but have never had an issue dropping calls and Everything sounds as good as when I was with Verizon. I have areas where I don't get 3g, but I haven't needed it there.

Like it has been said most people that have a problem want to complain, but people that are happy mostly keep their mouths shut.

Which is what the forums are for, resolving the issues (complaints) if possible. ;)

but people that are happy mostly keep their mouths shut.

Most, but not all.. some do join up just to brag about their device, mingle with the community and perhaps help others. ;)

Yes.

Yes, but I was explaining why it sometimes seems that everyone hates this phone, when I am guessing that in actuality that is far from true.

It seems that there were plenty of defective units, but plenty of good ones too. It happens with other phones and your perspective may vary based on which you got when you first bought it.

I have also seen how many people are wanting CM7 or some other gingerbread port for this phone, and having tried out some of the alpha (or pre-alpha) builds many of the issues people may have are not necessarily with the phone itself, but may be with the software it is pre-loaded with.

Hahaa! I knew this was gonna be a fun thread just by looking at the title lmao!

Im a big fan of the triumph. Rooted with CM7. Life is good :D

All phones have their problems, especially ones this new... be patient and
give the devs around here some time to work their magic. most issues ive
had are with sprint any way and not the phone...but i cant complain... especially
when im only paying $35 per month.

4 outta 5 stars... im a happy guy.

I don't know if it's the worst device of 2011, but I also had a bad experience with Motorola's Triumph. I returned it to the store and have opted for an LG device that works quite well.

I also returned mine, the Radios in mine did not work as well as my optimus V,i need a reliable phone to work in every room in my house and the V does it well.

Same here, it blows my old Intercept out of the park. I purchased the 2 year plan for Best Buy so I'm definitely keeping this phone for a long time. Maybe even swap it out after a year or so just to get a brand new one.

I may do that myself... or during the Holidays get the new VM Phone. IDK. But I really hope they issue new units that are purged of all of the issues.
